Evening all, I have recently acquired a lovely mini argento, it came with 2 x 18350 ultrafire batts. I fully charged them, they showed just over 4V on the multimeter, loaded one into the mini, first vape good, second not so good, third vape dead. Tried the next, same story. Checked them again on the meter and both are reading 2.8V in minutes ??? It seems to much of a coincidence for them both to die at the same time, could it be the charger? I am using a "universal" charger like this -- If it is the charger, why are they showing that they are holding over 4V......sorry for the waffle.......thanks, MMF

More likely batteries not holding the charge and draining under load..Will show correct voltage under open circuit and will drain fully under load almost immediately..
If you put the battery in the mod and test across the connector and get the same 4 volts, that's the most likely reason.

Ultrafire batteries are not the best, but there are also a lot of fake Ultrafires out there which are really, really rubbish. Repackaged old laptop batteries.

That sounds exactly like what is happening macca, but what is the most likely reason.....LOL.....sorry for my noobness

The most likely reason is that batteries are useless or have outlived their usefulness. Another test you can do is put a drained battery in your charger and see how long they take to charge. If they charge too quick, then usually the battery is dead.
If you have known good battery try it on the charger. The charging could be knackered too and not charging up the batteries but that would be my second port of call.
I would get the protected 18350 from Totally Wicked if they still do them or a couple of 18350 IMR's from Moju and try them first.

No good batteries mate but thanks for your advice, Sunday night time.

I can't tell that from here mate..
You need to use a known good battery on the charger and see how it behaves short of professionally testing the charger.
You atty resistance may also be too low and demanding a lot more than the -fires can handle. My first port of call would be:
1. Get a known good battery
2. charge that battery in the charger.
Then you can make an educated guess as to what's not behaving. I would also advise a WP2 charger regardless of whether the charger is ok or not.
