People seem to say that Kanthal wire is better than Nichrome, they sell it now on wires.co.uk Thinking of getting the 0.2 Kanthal resistance A wire. Does this sound right?

Bumping this for you ellen, I don't have a Penelope if thats what you want it for, so I can't help.
For the other rebuildables I have I use 0.16 and 0.20 Kanthol and no problems with it

.20 kanthal is 43.8 ohms a merer and .16 is 66.9 ohms a metre So .20 if you like low resistance coils and .16 if you like higher resistance coils

Kanthal has no nickel and has a higher resistance for the same thickness compared to Nichrome, allowing you to use bigger diameter wire.
So it's a better wire to use and I found the taste to be better. 0.2 Kanthal-A is a good wire to use where you would use 0.18 nichrome ie., like the Penelope but you will find it hard to coil a small area like a Vivi Nova with it but it's doable.
I use 0.2 Kanthal-A1 which is slightly different for my stardusts.
