After reading about them on another thread I've recently bought an external battery pack for recharging phones/ego batteries etc when away from a power supply and I've got a couple of questions if anyone could help?
The one I've got has 2 usb ports, both 5v DC, one at 2A and the other at 1A. Am I correct in thinking that if i use my ego usb charger in either port that will take care or the conversion to 4.2v/420ma?
Also, I've got a couple of devices (an itaste battery and an ego style battery) which charge straight from a usb port directly via cable, like a passthrough.
As my computers usb ports are only 500ma would these batteries be safe plugged into either the 1A or 2A ports or am I risking a big bang? (Re the itaste: I've checked the manual/charging cable etc and couldn't find any references to volts/amps)
Any help would be greatly appreciated and apologies for the wall of text.
Andy

Yes to all OK to all The Ego charger limits the current. Plugging your ITaste and Ego into it should be fine, I have a battery pack that I use with mine and it CHARGES fine, as the output will be limited to 500mA it could not be used with a non battery pass through, well it could it just gives a rubbish vape, I have tried it

Thanks Des, I'm definitely having a thick day tho'. I've realized my original question was worded badly. The 500mA connection is on my pc - which should be ok. The battery backup outputs 2A and 1A. Why would the output on those be limited to 500mA? Does the device only draw what it requires? Told ya my brain had wandered off for the day!

500 mA is the Standard current output of a USB port on a PC, though this is being changed and goes up to 2A (I think) soon. The higher output on the battery pack is good for Tablets and large phones as they have quite large capacity batteries, my Google Nexus has a 2A charger, when I try and charge it on a standard UBS it does not charge if the device is on as it draws more than 500mA. But I can still use this charger on other devices as they will have a current limiter on their inputs. Yes, the device only draws what it requires.

Brilliant! Thanks very much! I am now a happy bunny and appear to have learned something.
Thanks again.
