Let's not forget that vaping also provides the psychological satisfactions of the hand-to-mouth movements, the exhaling a cloud, etc etc

Something interesting is that when I first swapped to vaping from smoking, I didn't really do so in order to quit altogether. I did so because it was healthier and cheaper, and still allowed me to "smoke". I wanted to be healthier, I wanted to save money, but I did NOT want to stop smoking.
The first week was hard, really hard. I definitely went through withdrawal - tearful, insomnia, cravings, but the e-cig took the edge off. And then there were no cravings, so I dropped my nic down, and down, and down...
I do think that there is far more to the addiction to smoking than the addiction to nicotine.
Two months ago, I didn't want to give up smoking, and nor did I ever think I would be able to. Now I can see that I can, and I want to. I really want to. I can confidently say that I will never smoke an analogue again. Unlike all other quitting attempts, this time I don't WANT to. Normally when I'm quitting, I really, really want to smoke, but don't allow myself to. Funnily enough, eventually I cave in (usually after a glass of vino!). But now I have no desire to - in fact I feel sorry for the smokers who I can smell walking past, where as on previous quitting attempts, I would have envied them.
I like to be free of addicitive substances, because I'd like to make my own decisions, not influenced by the drugs. I enjoy vaping, but I think I'd enjoy not vaping more..
