Mesh and lighter?

Ive taken delivery of the cobra today, and just wanted to know is it really possible to heat the mesh from a disposable lighter?

Only at work at the mo, with no gas hob etc. and was thinking maybe I could get her fired up?

It will work Jay, I tried it but it's a slow process and it isnt very effective.
Want to see pics of the cobra when you've got it set up

Ellen, did you do the old trick of turning the lighter into a flame thrower type lighter with a huge flame if you know what I mean by that?

Only not sure if it would be more likely to melt the lighter or less likely.

I turned the lighter up so it had a huge flame yes, but it got very hot and knackered the flint

I only use a lighter to oxidise my mesh, and dont turn the flame up at all

Not tried it on a mesh wick yet, but it kicks out a nice flame and you fill it with lighter gas.

Hi and thanks, I done it using the lighter turned up and got it working a treat.
I went into a specialist tobacco shop in victoria street to find out if they had those blue flame special lighters. 16 quid the cheapest! So I gave it a miss!
