After lurking on here for the last three weeks, I decided I'd better register should I feel the need to ask questions, as is my wont. I've been smoke-free for six weeks today and am enjoying my new hobby immensely, although I know there is potential for it to be a lot better. I started with a clearomiser and a couple of small batteries I got from a local shop, and bought a couple of bigger batteries to help me along. Once the clearomiser was irreparably gunked up, I bought some DC carts on a mate's recommendation but don't like the slow filling process, the difference in taste and not really having any idea how much juice is in them, so I've ticked them off my list. I'm currently using a 6ml DCT which is better, but find it too big and don't like the idea of having to keep buying new carts, as my primary reason for giving up smoking was cost and if I can save money then I intend to do so. Having finally got my head around all the various 'izers' that are available, I've concluded that I like tank systems, and imagine my delight when doing lots and lots of research, almost exclusively on here, that not only do some tank systems come with replaceable atomizers, but not only are they replaceable, they're also rebuildable. How cool is that? I've not actually got anything to rebuild yet, but I do have ten metres of Kanthal, ten metres of silver wire and ten metres of cotton wick, ready for my purchase this week of several Vivi and Mini Novas, which I've decided are going to be my pv of choice for the next few months. I've started mixing my own juice in the last two werks as I see this as the biggest money-saver of all, and love the idea of making whatever I want at whatever strength I want, although it would be fair to say I'm still in experimental mode, even with single flavours. I'm trying to tell myself that all this initial outlay is worth it as I'll only have to buy my base ingredients for juice going forwards so costs will drop off as time goes on, but then I look at some of the lovely shiny things in the reviews and on the vendors' sites, and I wonder how much money I'm actually going to save, which I'm sure you can all identify with... Anyway, that's me, so thanks for reading if you've made it this far and I look forward to contributing, mostly by asking copious questions, to this excellent forum, which has truly captured my attention to a point where I've become a little over-enthusiastic towards vaping. My wife will verify this.

Hello & welcome Moon I've saved thousands of pounds since I started vaping over 4 years ago. I was a very smoker but have got my costs down to about £10.00 per week. Out of interest, what battery are using?

Good to meet you moon, #welcome2# you certainly seem to be enjoying your vaping journey, well done packing in the ciggies I can't help you with mixing or rebuildables, but loads of folk on here can! The Vivi Novas are great, i just buy the ready made heads for them Have a good look around, there are boards for modding and mixing and please don't hesitate to ask any questions, someone will always try to help out

Blimey, those were quick responses! Thanks for the warm welcome, and to Chrissie, I have to say I'm not entirely sure. I know they're ego, but they don't have the 'click five times' turn off I've read about and they have been rebranded with the name of the local shop I bought them from. They do a job so to speak, but I'll be upgrading in the next few months when they reach the end of their useful life, and while there's no way I'm going to be buying a Provari, I like the look of the new mini Lavatube, although I'll wait to see if a SS one is released as I don't really want a chrome one. I'd also see that replacing batteries for these will be cheaper than replacing with the batteries I'm currently using, as well as being vv, so can justify it like that. I'll be ordering an ego k pass through from HC when their sale starts on Tuesday, as I think it'll be very handy in the car, although I believe I may have to wait a while for delivery... My first question, now I've mentioned HC. Am I correct in assuming that they sell genuine Vision Mini and Vivi Novas, or are they copies?

Health Cabin sell the real deal a passthrough is a very handy thing indeed, i would also suggest that you have a look at the Ego Twist, a great intro to vv vaping! Slow boat shipping from HC, in my experience takes around 3 weeks

Moon, batteries for big battery mods do work out cheaper in the long run. As karma says, Health Cabin do sell genuine parts & they are a very good vendor

I wish you hadn't mentioned the Twists as I'd made my mind up on the pass through, but now I'm not so sure as I'd quite like to try vv but had decided that would be for the future.

If they are both discounted in the sale it would be very rude not to buy them both The Twists are good, but having a passthrough is very handy indeed
