I agree Perp, the shark I saw was just off the local reef, but it was about 40 metres away. The dive boat crew were taking the Pi** saying it was a tiger shark, it could have been any shark and I was just so happy to have caught it on camera even if it did look like a shark shaped dot. Last year in Mexico, on my first ever dive (discovery dive) we came face to face with two fully grown bull sharks, the one was about 5 meters away, I totally sh1t myself! It was totally unexpected, but still it's their environment and even me flapping around like a dying chicken didn't get a attack response. You take your chance in the ocean it's not our environment. Just sad that the creatures have to suffer when they're just being themselves in their own home.
