I've been quite happy with my boges for a long while (briefly kangers)... What is it with the vivi nova? I have a tank. I'm used to it. a carto lasts about 3 days or so (with vv and like an LR carto). Cheap as chips. Not a prob (when I say cheap I mean about £4 for 5 - that's like 2 weeks worth and I'm a heavy vaper) Are these cheaper? Do they last longer? How easy it is to rewire? Sounds complicated to me... Can someone please explain ta Jane

The vivi nova or nova mini look very similar to a tank I find them easier to refill, didn't get on with tanks, the rebuildable aspect is that you relace the head when it goes just by unscrewing the old head and replacing with a new one. Nova's and mini nova's come with 3 heads of different resistance 1.8, 2.4 and 2.8 ohms, the tubes are also replaceable. The other style is the V3, again heads tubes and bases replaceable. Dave

Take a look at this tutorial on rebuilding a vivi nova.
You dont have to completely rebuild the wick and coil because just like the cartos you use, you can buy them either singly or in packs of 5 for around a tenner and just unscrew the old one when it loses performance and screw the new one on.
Also easy as anything to clean the old one and use again.
Never throw the old one away because there will come a time when you want to try rebuilding it.

I did think about getting a DCT when I was looking at tanks, but the number of good reviews I've read, and the good life I got out of my CE4, are what convinced me to get a mini nova, and knowing that I will want to try rebuilding the attys at some point (probably in the near future), it was the best choice for me.
As I am finding with everything in the vaping world, personal preference is the main factor, for me this is hitting the mark, and I've not had any of the dry hits I get using a carto.

That was a great video that has left me confused.... Nothing new there but..He just used one piece of wire, no joining of resistance/no resistance wires like with Penelope. Is there something different about the kanthal wire? I don't understand.....

I may be a million miles out, but i think you need a no risistance because of the chamber on a penny Lyn. Most rebuildables dont use a no resistance.

NO.......Because the coil is at the top of the tank. Need to keep the wick saturated, which feeds the coil. You can try a flavour out in one, but then have to clean the tank and wick before using another flavour. Dont ever worry about asking a "silly" question I often give silly answers!!!!

I think a reason for having the no res wire on the Novas is that the wires are ultimately held in place by a silicon grommet which means that this is heated by the resistance wire and presumably gives off fumes. Use no res wire as legs and the silicon grommet doesn't heat up anywhere near as much.

Ive rewicked with .20 kanthal, using cotton wicks and no problems whatsoever.
I dont call myself an expert at rewicking by any means though, just saying in my experience its ok.

This is exactly why, even with pre made heads, you get a light rubbery taste, as the resistance wire legs heat up the grommet... the no resistance wire legs are simply to prevent this.

thanks guys...really helps... Do they work out cheaper though than boges and tanks? I can get a tank for £4 max and that can last me like 6 months +..... I get through boges though. I think I tried the vivi nova 1 or something with the short wick and hated it. Constant burnt taste.... ...pathetic... Where's the best deal to get some of these to try? Do healthcabin do them? Sorry for all the questions Jane

It was less than buying 5 replacemnt heads
