If you find a flavour you like at £10 for 30 mls, then its fine. 30 mls would last me about 10 days. Find an equally good one for £5 and its nice, then twice the bargain.
Some people pay around £18-20 for 30 mls and swear by the stuff.
Mine costs me about £1 a week to make and I love it. Does`nt mean you will though, like I might like a £20 for 30 mls mix.

As you said - taste is a personal thing. I would suggest for the initial period , to try small amounts from different vendors and try different concoctions if you can. And very importantly keep notes on each batch you try. that way you can review what you like the most. And you might be lucky enough to find that taste isnt top on your list.
Theres maybe around 4 aspects(in my view) to fulfill - taste, cost, vapour production, nic hit and not in that order. I can sometimes go no nic with big flavour, or big hit with lots of vapour and no flavour. The beauty is it is so versatile and can change on a weekly basis. At the moment my order of things is cost, vapour, hit, flavour.
Andy
Sorry I forgot to add- if of course you buy stuff you really dont like there is always the option of selling/swapping on here- one mans poison so to speak.

The rate you're paying is fine. My fav juice is 12.99 for 30ml. There's a thread on here at the moment about 99p for 10ml and people are pouring it down the drain. As with everything in life, value = what you're happy to pay for a particular product

I think your very fortunate to be able to taste before you buy. Most of us have to buy samples of something that sounds nice.

I agree with the other responses. I've tried some cheaper juices, but sadly the only ones I like are £10+ for 30ml. I have had a very small (so far) dabble in mixing and if you want to try a really simple approach you could do what I did, which was get some unflavoured e-liquid and a few small bottles of flavours from here: www.flavourart.co.uk/You can get the e-liquid close to the strength you like to vape and just add a small amount of flavour (10 - 20%). I quite like a couple of their tobacco ones. All you need is a blunt needle syringe to measure with.
