I just received my did this evening. I like the overall construction, but I find it pretty airy. As I've said before I do like a tight draw. I've placed a piece of sellotape across the air hole restricting the airflow which has the desired effect but it has added a tiny whistle or wheez to my draw. Not great. I'm not eager to slap a bit of blue tac on there but any other ideas?
Many thanks

Have you left all the screws in JayJay? rather than leave one out to fill with?

No skwoddy, I left all the screws in, I guess my Wick could be a little bigger as I rolled it initially for the cobra which I believe has a smaller Wick hole, but other than that I'm trying to plug that hole some. I got it to work straight away. 1.2 ohm coil. Nice vape, great flavour, and bloody good build. Just not tight enough for me as is.

Ill admit, its not as tight as the maximus on the draw, I have little luck with coiling the DID tbh, I even got brass nuts and centre post to replace the SS ones which I found were too big for my liking, but I do struggle with hot spots and shorts. Gonna try the peter K method when I find a drill the right size.

Some people learn to live with the airy draw as vapour is plenty, but other users have filled the air hole with epoxy resin and used a smaller diameter drill to shrink the hole to 0.6mm. maybe give that a whirl, testing with putting tape over the hole and sticking a pin throug the tape will give some indication as to whether the resin would work?
Good luck buddy

Skwoddy has the answer there jay, a resin or even a glue will plug that hole and you can then re drill to your own requirements, since it is well away from the heating coils and because only air passes through it you can use pretty much anything you like, what about sticking a piece of mesh on the inside of the top cap over the air hole? that will reduce the airflow considerably

Nice, thanks guys. I never thought about putting something on the inside. I was kinda reluctant to make any permanent change as it's mint and I may well sell it. But it's a good size and a bloody good vape other than the airy draw, so I may tamper a little with that hole.

Yeah I'm gonna give it a go Johnny boy. I'm thinking something like smearing some of the fantastic mastic on the inside over that hole and see what I can come up with. That way it won't be a permanent change. But will see how it performs. As is the sellotape works a treat and it's stopped whistling on every draw. I'm impressed with the build quality and those threads are probably the best I've seen.

Agreed Excellent build, Noalox on all my threads too, they glide like butter now (even more so), Let us know how you get on Jay.
