Hey guys, Well, it’s been just over a month now since I first started annoying you all with my many, many questions, so I figured, why stop now….. As some of you know I first started with skycig, got on fine with it, but in true text book vaping stylee I soon found I needed something with a bit more oomph and a longer battery life, so after lots of great advice from the lovely folks in this forum I ordered myself a Riva, and have to say the difference was astonishing. However, after a few weeks of using the Riva I’m still finding that as much as I love it, the flavour of the juices are just not strong enough for me, even after having custom juices made with a stronger flavour, so my latest question is - will an ego twist give me better flavour? I’m not bothered about throat hit, or vapour, it’s just the flavour I’m after, and having read some of the threads about the twist I’m still unsure if this would be the right device, or is it just my stupid taste buds that are the problem and getting a twist won’t make a difference? Thanks all.

What are you using on top of the riva Cambo?
Something like a twist, the variable voltage, will allow you to tweak the voltage and this can improve the flavour.
But it's also about what goes on top as well, depending on what you're using some atomisers, cartos/clearos are better than others for flavour

I'm using SR clearo's, Vision Ego V2 Long Wick ones. I don't really like Carto's, I find them too fiddly (although I do have a number of them in my vaping box)....

Of course VV is the next step most people take, but if you didn't want to spend money on a twist or something yet, trying a LR (low resistance) clearomiser or atomiser will give you an idea of the experience of VV, you will get a lot more flavour from LR.
Clearomisers are great for what they are and the convenience, but if you're a flavour hunter like me, they might not be enough for your taste buds. Maybe a dripping atomiser might be an idea too?

I've seen threads about 'dripping' and atomisers, but I must admit I don't really understand what they are?

I agree with Ellen, the thing you stick on top might make more difference - It might be worth considering a mini Vivi Nova for instance. The Twist will allow you to vary the voltage, so you can adjust for different resistance atomisers and different juices to find what gives you the best result, so is certainly worth considering - they are excellent value for a vv device and perform well.

Just to add more confusion to your decision I`ll throw in the Kgo VV/Ego-V battery. I picked up one for £15.99 and it works on par to my twist. Ive only seen them in 650mah so far though. A big part of the journey is finding the battery/juice/delivery system that suits your needs.

A vivi nova is not a huge difference from a vision ego in terms of flavour though. I think if you really want to experience the intensity and delicacy of some flavours, you should try something other than a clearo tank. At least just to try it. Dripping atomisers you just add a few drops of your liquid and vape it, they're more for testing flavours, or for sitting in front of the TV with your favourite juice as they require topping up every 6 puffs or so, unless you have a rebuildable one that can hold more drops.....but the flavour they give is incredible

Did I read somewhere though that you can't use LR clearo's with a Riva, or am I getting mixed up?
The dripping atomiser sounds good for at home use, I'll go and have a look at those now.
I think the twist can wait for a few weeks yet, but I might give one a go when I get paid and see if it makes much of a difference.
Thanks again.

a lot of low resistance cartomisers and clearomisers are 2.0 ohms, that's fine on a Riva, it's lower than 2.0 ohms that can cause problems on a Riva

Low resist stuff can damage low capacity batteries (under 450mah). Tbh if you are using a standard ego battery (650mah+) you wont have any problems. You`ll notice the battery drain faster thats all.

Azzie that's not completely true, the electronics in a Riva have been dissected by Macca, they don't have the protection to handle very low resistances. Larger Mah Ego batteries like the twist can handle it, but I fried a Riva using a coil that was too low.

I am now venturing into VV cambo, as you said it is the next step. I have just built my own VV mod, but will also be ordering an ego twist or 2 on pay day, as I have heard nothing but good things about them, and I want to get into the LR side of things that my riva won't allow
