What voltage are you running at oneday? Try dropping to lowest possible. I tried mine using .18 kanthal and popped the 1st 3. Then used .20 kanthal and popped. then same .20 and dropped my VV boxmod down to 2.8 volts and it fired up fine. Ive gradually increased voltage until now, when its 3.4v. Resistance on 1st successful coil was 1.2ohm, but has now gone up to 1.7 in little over an hour. Need to get some wet-n-dry to shave the tank down a tad, tomorrow, but so far im impressed. ![;D](//storage.proboards.com/2973975/images/uKg77DgrQpkBFJJN7U0P.gif)

Ah but don't forget that with a freshly charged battery a mechanical mod is chucking out near 4.2V, even worse for setting up that initial coil. irony as I posted your video that states just that lol todd, yes I should have been clearer ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

It's been confirmed that the whole center tube is in fact plated brass.... The tube is in direct contact with the juice ![:o](//storage.proboards.com/2973975/images/V_yPuiwBICIqOziN7BjO.gif) Question 3 that macca asked she did reply with ss & brass but as you can see no ss here.... Pictured below

What is the issue with a brass (or plated) centre post? The plating is ok so long as it is 100% intact.... But a tiny scratch etc to reveal the brass and then its exposed for the juice to react with and you'll end up ingesting nasty chemicals and possible carcinogen

If the plating goes then it can lead to salt formation especially with the presence of heat and electricity. However even the DID had a completely unplated brass center screw an many people are still using it.
I have been using a plated vertigo since July and the chinese genesis since three weeks and they do not have a spot of degradation on them so depends on how good the plating really is..
I will ask her about the center post tomorrow AM. I thought it was just the posi screw..

I think they done it to improve conductivity rather than the cost..
I am aware that the DID has been upgraded..But there are plenty of people who are still using the original DID and the brass center screw is exposed to a lot more heat and juice.
Those who are uncomfortable using it should write it off as a total loss..Unfortunately that's the way co-ops go..So no use sticking knives into it now.
The Chinese genesis is also completely plated.. I have been using it without any degradation for the past three weeks. If I notice any degradation, I would stop using it.

Hmm, my did has the brass centre post. I'll order the ss one. But I'll continue to vape this and the did in the meantime. But I'll keep an eye on it. So is the did exposed seeing as though it's all brass?
