Frustrated with lack of flavour.

Ellen: I like the Cherry Menthol, though I can no longer taste the cherry, but when I did it was fantastic. I also liked Swedish Fish the first couple of days then the taste became very muted, weirdly. RY4 makes me nauseous. Weirdly, I can taste that one. But it tastes like cheap popcorn.

Chrissie: I drink tea and coffee. And I know what you mean it does start to lose it's taste after a while. That's why I drink beer in the afternoon. Oh and no cigs generally don't taste nice, but after a meal and a cup of tea/coffee for some reason they can taste divine. Weird.

andym: You might be right, but I'm not overly confident about ordering outside of the UK.

ellen: I would love to go, but to be perfectly honest with you. I struggle in social situations with people I don't know. I was a bit ashamed to admit it before, but oh well.

giles: I almost bought one of those tin mods from gary, but the cheaper batteries he recommended (Like I said I'm poor) were out of stock so I had to cancel my order for the time being.

Pam O: Again, maybe this is the problem. I don't have enough flavours to alternate between. I also chain vape. If I don't, I smoke. It's never out of my hand. Fully charged riva battery doesn't even last me a full day.

At the minute I don't really go for the flavour,I only vape the tobacco juice and as long as I'm getting the nicotine hit and keeping off the real ones I'm happy to not bother about flavours. (I am still having a few stinkies each day as well)

Hi ewol. My taste buds are also all over the place and have been for a while. Some days everything just tastes watery, if it tastes of anything at all. The RY4 I loved at the beginning now tastes of not-very-much, most of my fruit flavours are meh when they used to be wow and even my favourite nougat tastes of cardboard. And I vape nearly everything either on dual coil cartos (works out at 1.5 ohm) on a standard ego battery or 1.8 ohm on a mini Vivi Nova on a Twist (at fairly low voltage or all I taste is overdone toast).

The problem is that you don't just use your taste buds to taste, your nose is very important also. And if you are smelling the same smell (or tasting the same taste) for long enough, you just don't notice it anymore. Sewage workers and dairy farmers know this very well As menthol is a strong taste, it maybe that it all by itself is blunting your olfactory system so you're not smelling/tasting those flavours as well as you might (anyone know if this is true?).

Some of the vendors offer juices at different flavour strengths, Puffin is one although I haven't bought from them yet. Also, Paradise Vape is currently doing a Pumpkin Spice flavour that's extremely strong all by itself - if you like sweet spices (think cinnamon and clove rather than curry and cardamom) perhaps give that one a go? Hubby's current favourite is lemon & lime with a few drops of menthol added, and that is luvverly.

Other than that, just hang in there. Your sense of taste should come back, and stabilise (mostly) in time. Good luck!

I've got one of those dual battery tin mods garry dibbley does, and it does pack a lot of punch. But might this be more down to the juices?

I like my flavours strong but I don't like menthol. Some vendor's juices just don't have much flavour and need weeks of steeping before they're ready, and even then, they're too subtle. I've tried some frogsters recently and they are full of flavour.

And that pumpkin spice sounds lovely - almost bought it myself, but on paradise vape they don't bother describing half their flavours.

I'm in the same boat as you ewol, I can taste very little of any flavours, everything just tastes wishy-washy, if it tastes of anything much at all, and it is very frustrating. I've tried various different flavours, 12 in total, even getting some made with extra strength flavour, and still I can't really taste anything, with the exception of menthol. So, I'm still on my quest to find a flavour I can really taste, and as it's pay day I shall be buying a few more flavours from vendors i've not tried yet to see if i can find anything that actually hits the spot. But hang in there, as I am, as I do believe that despite this, it's still a damn site better than smoking.

Yep. I get it with every flavour, doesn't matter how many times I switch, or how long I vape it for. I have 3 clearo's and some cartos with different flavours in and I try to switch them often to see if I can taste anything, but nothing. Think my taste buds have gone on a permanent vacation. ???

Maybe try a tongue clear out? I had a strong curry (home made chicken madras gurbbbbbble yum) and after, the vapes were strong in this one. I suspect stuff like milk wouldn't help vaping as they coat the tongue?

Sidenote : when I smoked (I was up to nearly 60 a day at one point, bejeebus) I was actually using a toothbrush to clean the brown gunk off my tongue. Permission to ewww.
