Question for everyone.

Hi guys. I am now one month and five days into my vaping and the same time off the cigarettes and loving it!
I just have a question for everyone. When if ever does it become cheaper than smoking? Ive spent more than double what Ive saved by not smoking on juice and vaping gear and Ive resisted loads of stuff!
At least its better for me thats what i keep telling myself and ive not even been tempted by real cigarettes so im happy, just need a pay rise now to fund it all!!

I guess when we stop buying stuff I have spent double what I would have spent on tobacco so far in my vaping journey but I now have a nice collection of vaping gear, and spares and spares for my spares and gallons of various flavour juices. I probably have enough kit and juice to last me many months without making a purchase but those pesky vendors will insist on telling us all about special offers and new flavours

I have made a solemn vow not to buy anything else until I get paid at the end of this month and so far so good

i stopped buying kit once i settled on my miniLT and in turn found myself not visiting the site so often. i come back here and get swayed by the new stuff i see others using and before i know it i'm spending again. i have already saved a fortune tho so it doesnt matter. the moral i guess is buy what you'll use not what you think you want, that'll keep spending down and before you know it you'll be better off financially. think long term, as long as what you spend in 6months-1year is less than what you would've spent smoking in that same time period you're doin good

When you've found an e cig you're happy with, (no one needs loads IMHO, we've only got one gob ) the flavour juices you like from a favourite vendor and the type of atomisers/cartomisers you like the best.

It took a while and a lot of wasted money to find the juices I liked, but now I have, not including the electricity to charge the batteries, averaged out it costs me about £15 a month.

P.S. To save money, you have to learn the difference between 'want' and 'need'.

I too spent way too much money when I started this vaping journey. I think the problem is
1. Finding the right delivery method for you.
2. Finding the right juice ( think I spent most money on that in the beginning )
3. It becomes an enjoyable hobby,
4. You tell yourself, " oh well, I've given up the stinkies, so it doesn't matter
5. Reading this forum, although so helpful, when you see what everyone else is up to you think, ooh I would like to try that.

I started with a sky cig, moved to a jacvapour kit, then the Riva ( still use that ) then a twist. Eventually I found my juices and my spend is now down to about £15 a month.

The app I have on my iPad tells me that I have saved just over £140 since I started vaping. It also tells me that I've spent £150 on vaping! I'm just about to get to a point where those two figures are reversed. But I'm also going to be buying a few more bits...
Shortly, though, I'm hoping to see the weekly cost of vaping drop to £20 a week, which is heaps less than I was spending on smoking. I haven't bought loads of kit, but its taken me around 2 months to get to this point.

I've "almost" settled down with my spending. I've had about 5 e-health cigs, 1 disposable then I moved up to an ego c, then got a dct, a tw clearo, a mega atty, a twist, a few attys, then sold my twist and mega, got a mini LT and a mini nova and I'm quite happy although I might get a LT extender so I can use bigger batteries and a vivi nova v5 chrome when there out but thats it then. I will just rebuild what I've got and keep buying juices.

Lol yep I know what you mean. My wife keeps wondering why we are no better off after I switched to vaping, but there are so many new exciting things to buy. If anything I am spending more on vaping than I was on the fags.

Once you have got the hang of vaping, if you have found your favourite device and a rebuidable atty/tank system then the costs fall dramatically. If you mix your own allowing £1 for 10ml of juice you mix (which is generous) then you could happily vape for about £5 a week. Or if you buy pre-made juice I reckon on about £10 - £12 a week.

Look at my banner, against smoking (pre-mades) I am saving just under £50 a week! I have spent nothing like the £7,500 in the 3 years I have been vaping I would have spent supporting my 20 a day habit, even after buying a Lavatube mini, Provari Mini and a Penelope and countless bits and bobs.

I kept a very careful record over the first 3 months (101 days) of everything I bought from equipment to e-juices, including stuff I bought and didn't like and binned or gave away.
Total spent - £538.24.
Total unused yet and carried forward. - £322.07.
Total saved by not smoking. - £1492.32.
Overall Profit. - £1276.15.

During October I was only buying e-juices and chemicals for future mixes, some of which will keep me going for over a year.
I have spent £160.43.
And I still have £213.93 in chemicals left.
My savings for not smoking, for Oct only would have been £420.36.
However, as I never went into my local store and just bought my fags, always other items that I did not particularly need, my bank balance is telling me that I am actually saving a lot more than the above figures say.

When I started off with e-lites I wasn't saving much at all due to their refills being so expensive. Since getting my Riva kit I've spent maybe £40 on clearos / cartos and different juices to try flavours and now I've settled on two favourites I'm absolutely quids in!

Johnny is saving more than me cos he's only ever bought two tobacco flavours and a couple of clearos plus he'd always spend loads on sweets and stuff when he bought his baccy at the corner shop
