Damn this enhanced sense of smell

I just took delivery of a used Metz 45 flash - one I always wanted, but they used to be a hellish price because they were in the province of the pros. The flash is in nice condition, used but quite clean and not grubby. It shows signs of having been used professionally and who knows how many wedding snaps it's taken.
All of this I knew from the seller - it's 30 years old, had been used professionally then had been left in its box for the last decade when superceded by a newer model.

But, the smell.
It's not filthy dirty and doesn't honk like a wet dog, but it's a slight whiff that's just annoying. I'm sure I wouldn't have noticed it when I smoked; not at all. It's kinda like a BO smell - actually, that's probably what it is; a flash is gripped in the hand for hours and in all weathers, including hot sweaty days.
Oh well, time to get the Febreeze out and /or wipe it down with sodium bicarb.

far I know exactly what you mean, I have been vaping for 5 weeks tomorrow and have noticed my sense of smell has come back and not all smells are pleasant and far worse now I can really smell them, I was walking my dogs through a graveyard with my oh the other day and there was the strongest smell of mud and manure, it was such an overpowering strong smell, I stopped and said "oh my god that awful smell, what is it!" my oh looked at me like I was mad and explained there was a gardener doing some digging and the smell was just mud, but to me after smoking since the age of 13 it was the strongest smell I had ever......smelt!
