Have been vaping happily now for 5months. Had a few ups and downs but never thought of giving it up.....until about 10 days ago. Not sure what happened but I was bored with it, the taste of my many juices was bland and in general did nothing for me. The only reason I kept going was because I do not want to be a smoker ever again. I toyed with the idea to just stop vaping and hope I wouldn't go back to the stinkies. Thankfully I didn't have the courage to do this...I woke up this morning and all my juices are once again YUMMY and vaping is the best thing ever again. I don't think it was just a case of my taste buds going AWOL, I don't really know what happened and I hope it never happens again, if anyone else has suffered this I'd love to know. Sounds silly but I was quite scared...vaping has definitely been my crutch to give up the stinkies and without it I know I would still be spending £7 a day on the coffin nails. However, I'm back on track

Everyday for me--I wake up--Look at all the vaping paraphernalia--and say can I really be bothered with all that--Just have a bloody cig. Then I think of the implications of pumping 50-60 rollups and say Yip its worth it and reach for my kit and vape.

Often had my moments, but then I've still reached for some roll ups, slowly running out so I'm trying very hard to vape through it, but typically as I've posted on some recent threads about my prolonged life of some Vision Clearomizers, both started playing up - was not impressed However, I think it's time I moved up a level in vaping terms and get something new to refresh the vaping experience, as smoking through it isn't worth it, it does smell, and is a waste of money, and I don't t taste anything apart from - well smoke Am determined to stick with vaping, just need to get it right, and keep an edge on it to keep myself interested and smoke free

Don't really get how vaping can become boring but smoking doesn't We are getting the nic hit after all, so why should it be this way?

Maybe because giving up the cigs to many was a habit and some its hard to break but if you persevere you wont miss the fags you've said it yourself been happily vaping for 5 months, and a few ups and downs. About the flavours our taste buds change as the day goes on that's the point when i change to another flavour. I prefer fruit flavours but have seen me changing to ry4 you've done bloody well so don't give up and sure you will find all the moral support hear on the forum.

Ive also felt the same as you Padiho, Either had a problem with the vaping gear or a problem with lack of taste and then when everythings working right im happy again I can think one day that a particular juice tastes awful and then the day after it tastes nice again, very strange isnt it, I stick with it as like you I never want to go back to the fags again.

Just some recent thoughts and ramblings and not aimed at anyone in particular...............
Is it because we want and expect a lot from our vaping that we never expected from our smoking? When we started smoking we coughed and choked for a long time before our throats and lungs gave up trying to protect us but we persevered. Baccy smokers will have spent time picking out twig like bits from our tobacco that were unsmokable, rolling in the rain or with wet hands was impossible, we have all bought lighters that went ping within hours of getting them, papers that have got slightly damp and the whole packet had welded itself together or papers with bad adhesive that gave way and landed a load of baccy complete with lit ends in our laps. Uncomplaining we put up with all of this inconvenience and replaced the bits and puffed away on leaves that always tasted the same, producing stinking smoke, turning our fingers, teeth and paintwork brown.
Now we have something completely new and, if controlled, cheaper and a whole lot healthier and we seem to expect to be able to seamlessly convert with no hiccups, no period of getting used to the new delivery method which due to our damaged throats and cough reflex is a whole lot easier this time round. The equipment which is usually cheaper than a pack of fags, is expected to perform faultlessly 100% of the time even though we take it apart and wash it and refill it multiple times. We seem to be searching for vaping utopia that I would wager 99% of us didn't experience when smoking..................do we want and expect too much???

Exactly pamo this is pretty much what I said yesterday smoking is smoking vaping is vaping it's as simple as that, and yes I will be the first to admit I expected too much from vaping but 95% of the time I am happy with it the other 5% I have a cig !!!!

If it's any consolation to the newbies , I feel the same as you and I'm approaching my 2 year marker , well said Pam ^^^ . It's much much easier to make the switch these days with all the new fangled technology that people have worked on to improve ........ i.e. visions, vivi nova etc ...( I won't go overboard with provaris and penelopes )....... If some of us can stick it out after buggering about with atties and carts then I'm sure with all the new kit about you guys can too .......... it's all about looking after our health as we get older ........ and wiser

Storm I can almost hear you say "In my day" LOL I have joined the vaping thing pretty early into the development of clearos but thankfully haven't had to do the carto thing, and in the very short time I have been vaping new and improved clearos are appearing all the time, in a year or two goodness knows what will be available I've had my fair share of newby frustrations, all my clearos sit on kitchen roll as they all decide to experience episodes of incontinence now and then but on the other hand my original stardust clearo is STILL going strong. Smoking was never so great and fantastic and sweet tasting and smelling that I would consider going back because of technical issues, or boredom or lack of vapable flavours and I have experienced all of those Pam

I'm there as we speak! Might be to do with the fact that I just changed the wicks on some clearos and either they're a dodgy batch or I've done something wrong, and now I have ONE working clearo and it's full of a juice I don't like (Don't worry, I have some cartos I can break out as this is an emergency, but half of those are prefilled with stuff I don't like either). I'd disagree a bit with the "searching for vaping nirvana" thingy, though. For me, it's just searching for vaping consistency. If you buy a pack of cigarettes, you know they will all taste the same, as will the next pack, and the next...however, every twist, tweak and turn gives you a different vaping experience, and sometimes (for me, anyway) it's this that throws me a bit off track. I don't think my subconscious understands why, when I vape, there's no guarantee that the next mouthful will taste the same as the last, let alone the next refill. Now, I can see that anyone who has persevered with roll-ups for ages has had a lot of the faff and fiddle that accompanies smoking (or vaping), but again, there's little or no taste variation from one pouch of tobacco to the next. It's probably a lot to do with a very confused subconscious. Clearly, my own subconscious is so confused that I appear to have agreed quite a lot with what PamO said, even whilst saying I disagreed. I think I need a lie down. And some new clearos.

I don't think my subconscious understands why, when I vape, there's no guarantee that the next mouthful will taste the same as the last, let alone the next refill. I keep my brain in a total state of confusion then (my other half might agree ) I change flavours all the time, I mean from one puff to another. On the go at the moment I have...mini nova with bananas and cream, nova with menthol, kanger with liquorice and tobacco, CE5 with arctic lemon and Vision Ego rebuildable with blueberry For you it's consistency you are after, for me it is keeping the taste buds from stagnating. It's probably a lot to do with a very confused subconscious. Clearly, my own subconscious is so confused that I appear to have agreed quite a lot with what PamO said, even whilst saying I disagreed. I think I need a lie down. And some new clearos. Awwwww bless....go and have a lie down in a dark room for a while Pam
