A7 rebuildable atty - easy to re-coil?

hi there.

I'm thinking of getting one of these (mainly because safercigs do the chrome 1300 spinner and I thought I'd try to save postage).

I was just wondering how fiddly they are to rebuild the wick and coil. I've had a v3 head apart (didn't rebuild as I've no wire or wick atm) so I'm not too scared about getting stuck in. my main worry is the disclaimer on the website saying you must be experienced to recoil it.

I'm gonna get wire and wick at the weekend so should be all good to go. I was gonna get this meter -

Agreed, it looks very straight forward. It also looks like a dripping attie going by the pic

Cool, like I say I'm not scared to take things apart I just don't want to jump in at the really deep end.

Will that meter give me accurate resistance at such low ohms?

Yeah, it's for dripping

The meter will be OK, just remember that the meter itself will have a resistance of anywhere between .4 - .8 ohms. To find this you need to touch the probes together and whatever number appears on the screen needs to be subtracted from the reading it gives when you test your coil.

They are roughly ego sized (14 mm diameter) and a good product with an adjustable center pin if they are the same one as the SS Phoenix from vapingthings..

Yeah they are pretty easy, but also a bit fiddly.
They have two little holes where you thread your wire through, can be a pain if you have bad eyesight. I have just wrapped the wire around the screw then trapped it down. Works fine.

I've got reading glasses but might get one if those magnifying clamp things if I struggle. I'll have to dig out some tiny screwdrivers too I guess?
