Hi smudge, welcome from me too. As others have said an eGo or Riva starter kit is a good choice - most of us started with one

Thanks all very much for the replies. Going to go with the Riva 1100 starter kit and see how I go with that. I'll also have the chance to try out the clearomiser and see what I think of it. Will let you know how I get on and thanks again

Thanks for the reminder, I'd most likely have forgotten again. Having trouble getting on to the vapeescape site though - is it just me? Edit: Cancel that, working fine now

Thanks Gordy, I still have trouble believing that it's been so easy and wish I'd discovered e-cigs sooner, but no matter - better late than never I do feel slightly guilty sometimes though when my husband, family, friends etc are full of praise for me finally kicking cigs for good when I haven't really suffered at all, but I'll cope Oh and what is a spinner?

Thanks Chrissie, I guess there's a lot of the more technical stuff I haven't really caught up with yet - and don't worry I think I can stop myself feeling too guilty

Well the Riva kit has arrived and it's amazing! Can't believe the difference and am now even more convinced I'll stay off the stinkies for good. Thus far have just stuck to using the cartomisers, but will no doubt be having a try with the clearomiser at some point. Just wanted to say thanks again to everyone for the welcome and all the helpful advice. This is such a terrific forum, long may it continue Oh and got my raffle ticket, so will be keeping fingers crossed for that. Mustn't forget to add that I'm now also the very proud owner of a vape escape pen

Very pleased with it indeed. Charge lasts me all day and my mac no longer has a row of little cigarette shaped batteries sticking out of every USB port I've also got round to trying out the clearomiser and tbh I'm sort of in 2 minds about it. I checked out one of the video tutorials and do's and dont's and as far as I can tell have done everything as I should have, but it hasn't really persuaded me yet that it's for me. There's the obvious advantage of not having to top up so often, but I don't feel I get as satisfying a "drag" as I do through the carto. Also, it seems to mute the flavours a bit, although I could be imagining that. Will persevere for a bit, but the black cat is going back in the carto - just seems to taste better. On the subject of flavours - I love the black cat and also the RY4 from vape escape. Have tried a few others - caramel (ok), cocomel (icky) whisky cream (jury still out) and caramel tabac (yuck)! I have let them all steep and have to say the whisky one is improving with every day - I'm a scot so I have to say that, although the only thing that should ever be added to whisky is more whisky So far I haven't tried anything with a fruit flavour. Anyone got any favourites they'd recommend?

If you like the Cartomiser, then really there is no reason to try anything else.
Except a tank - which is literally, a cartomiser with holes punched in it, and a tank of liquid around it.
A clearomiser will not interest you, it simply removes the taste / burnt taste/ and a lot of the throat hit to give more taste.
It's good for us who vape non tobacco, delicate juices (Vanilla, Cookie, Raspberry Ripple etc).
