As you may remember, my provari stopped working properly, it gave out huge voltages when the display said 3v and after a couple of days gave out an E5 error message all the time, which Provape themselves, said it meant that something was broken and needed to be fixed, so it had to be sent back. Now the reason I am writing this, is not to have a go at anyone at all, but merely to get the information out there, as I haven't seen this posted anywhere else. Just got off the phone with Carl at Vapist Vaporisers, which is where mine has been sent back to. He explained that almost all problems with provari's are down to the connectors being dirty. That being, the 501 connectors at the top and the battery nipple inside the device. He said that Provape had asked him to clean them before he sent the provari back, as most faults were down to this. As it happens, Carl said that mine were dirty and cleaned with a screwdriver scraping the crud off the connectors, it worked fine for him. He had no problem sending it back to Provape anyway, which I requested he do. Now, this is the bit I am having problems with... how can a dirty connector cause the provari to put out a HUGE voltage instead of the 3v on screen? Carl seemed to think this could be the case, as it is electronic, I'm happy to be wrong, but I can't see how this could be so. So I'd welcome any experienced answers.

Wouldn't have a clue Womble. As you may remember, my Mini was doing what yours is doing, although, mine was intermitent, Provape asked me to clean the two connection points with that alcohol cleaner, which I did but it made no difference. Thats when it was then sent back to them.

Thats when it was then sent back to them. I do remember that Sandra and Carl said that yours was the one provari found to have a fault not caused by the dirty connectors. Which is what gave me the main reason to ask that mine be sent back to Provape, as it was doing the same as yours.

I do know that Provape won't be long turning around and having it sent back to you, they sent my original broken one to Carl and Carl gave me a new one but they emailed me when it arrived and again when it was being returned and it was only a day. Hopefully, yours will be that quick. Mine, on it's way to America went walking via Ireland ??? But that was the only delay.

I hope so... I relying on a broken and repaired LT atm, on the other hand... the genesis is now working ok, so maybe I'll be alright getting the 12v battery out of the van and sticking it straight on that

I probably would have just had it back after a clean. But you are right sending it on so it can have the full once over, just in case it's something more serious.

Well, intermittent connections coupled with boost circuitry can do all sorts of funny things, not much of an answer but it is feasible.

Hi Sandra.
I haven't been about much I'm afraid, but I just got a parcel force customs charge invoice a couple of days ago and as I wasn't expecting anything from the US, asked Carl if it was anything to do with the provari.
He said it seems a bit much (£28.30 inc £13.50 clearance fee, robbin barstewards..) but he will pay me back if I pay it.
I've heard no other news about it. So have no idea what, or indeed if, something was wrong with it.
Luckily I did find my missing LT, so I've been quite content without the provari, but I am looking fwd to getting it back.

Customs really needs a big shake up, it seems there's no rhyme nor reason to what they do. At least Dick Turpin wore a mask.

Same here and I'm fuming, how on earth can import vat be applied to your own goods. I keep going round in red tape and automated voicemail to get my money back so if anyone knows how to do this easily please advise. Parcel force did reply on e/mail can't do nothing, contact the sender and HMRC have not replied > This is mine with proof that I sent it to the USA and returned to me after repair

In this case you shouldn't be charged import tax on a return for fixing, did anyone at customs even take this into consideration ? did they hell they just clocked up another tax to fill their quota. They wonder why people fiddle their taxes when things like this are happening everyday, i've almost always been self employed and done my own taxes, i'd say about 50% of my tax I hold back for handling fees paid to myself.
