Hi all I have some samples to test and have splashed out on an Olympian atty and ceramic driptip to try them out. I have a few questions which I would appreciate your help with please. 1 - how many drops of juice do I add at once? 2 - Do I cover the mesh at the base, or add just 2 or 3 at a time? 3 - Cleaning - I presume I can just add the next juice to test which will gradually take over from the previous one? 4 - Do I need to remove the driptip, or can I drip down the hole in the middle? Can't think of anything else for now, apart from how long should I expect it to last? It was from LF, abouta fiver, so would like to gauge how much life it's got left. Thanks in advance Andy

Should last a good time, only add e few drops at a time, yes drip down the drip tip, no need to take it off, to change flavour, get a tissue and put over the dripping end and blow out the old juice from the threaded end

Hi Andy,
One of the main things you will notice with direct dripping as opposed to using a cartridge/tank system is the increase of flavour you will get and the stronger throat hit you will receive.
You will soon get used to the technique of direct dripping and the pattern required - simple rule of thumb, if the atty is tasting burnt/dry then add more juice, if you find the atty is flooding then too much juice has been added.
Three drops at a time should be just about right and drip juice the juice directly onto the bridge of your atomiser. This will need to be done on a regular basis (which you will soon learn as and when) as you vape because remember, you are not relying on a cartridge to soak the "wick" which then feeds into your atomiser.
Direct dripping is great for testing new flavours as Chillax points out, cleaning out for a new juice is easy!
Hope this helps!

Hmm, a further question now poses itself! When I attach the atomiser to any of my eGo batteries, their power light flashes and I get no burn from the atty. Have I done something wrong? I've checked that the centre pins are high enough, but nothing else springs to mind. HELP!!!!

Strange one that Andy,
Have you tried the obvious of cleaning/wiping the contact points with kitchen towel to ensure a good contact is made? Failing that, do you have another battery you could try?

I've given all 3 batteries a go, after wiping both atty and inner threads, and no joy with any of them. Batteries work fine on clearos though, and all have good charge. I've blown through the atty in case there was juice in the way, and still no joy. Grrr!

Update - in all 3 cases, the eGo battery's light flashes blue 3 times, then a pause, then another 3 flashes, and so on. The strange thing is that it worked perfectly earlier on when I tried it, and I haven't done anything with it since apart from filling again and replacing the driptip!

You atty probably has a short Andy - don't keep trying it on different batteries, you could damage them.
Test it with a multi-meter if you have one.

Assuming that your batteries are charged and that the flashing starts as soon as you push the button, and that they are working with whatever else you have.... one (likely) possibility is that you may have a fault atty causing a short or near short circuit (very low resistance). The flashing indicating that the battery doesn't like it and has gone into self preservation mode. Looks like you're not going to have such a great evening after all!

Hi Andy, That sure does sound like the atty has given up... ...Olympian does have a good name in this field so please don't give up just yet based on your initial bad experiance.
I'd suggest contacting the vendor and explain what you have said here and they should help you.
sorry to hear your problem when all you want to do is try your new juices!

OH POO!! Thanks (I think!) for the replies folks, well that atty lasted for precisely 6 draws and 30 secs - rather expensive at £5. It's just about now that I really wish we had a 7-11 store locally that sold a full range of vaping-related paraphernalia!!

Back to Liberty Flights I go! I bought the Olympian after reading reviews, and thought it was OK based on longevity and VFM. Just goes to prove you shouldn't believe all you read. Not blaming LF, they can't try every component they sell.

I tell you, casual lurker and reader of this post, the thing that heartens me most about this thread is the number of vendors who have sprung to my cause and posted regardless of the fact that I didn't purchase from them. It shows the depth of responsibility and sense of community that this forum engenders, and is very pleasant to be at the receiving end of, especially with the recent furore concerning a vendor whose name will necessarily remain anonymous! Thank you!
