Already got one coming Steve, are they as good as the real thing? I'll grab the spares after christmas, it looks like they'll maintain a good influx of stock for a while

I'll grab the spares after christmas, it looks like they'll maintain a good influx of stock for a while I've been using mine since I bought it. Filled with Colli's Vanilla & Banana Custard. Works exactly the same as the real thing. The only minor issue is that the ceramic holder will not fit into a real base or dripping base. Not really an issue and the real ceramic holder fits it fine. Also found the Kir Franis clear tanks are a bit of a tight fit the first time. Fine after that though and they still work on the real one afterwards.

I also think the ceramic is not 100% ceramic. There is an amount of plastic in it..Looks like a composite material of some kind..
So don't heat it on a naked flame..I tried it to pre-empt any soapy taste by torching it and it did not melt even with a blow torch but it does not behave like a true ceramic.

What made you do that? could you smell soap? The original soapy ceramic issue had a very pungent smell of soap about it

I couldn't smell anything..But I cleaned everything none the less by putting everything in boiling water and then torched the ceramic..It started giving off a plasticky smell without melting and I put it back in boiling water.. It's fine though and survived the blow torch. I haven't got an original to compare it with but it defo looks a lot smoother than this:
