Torched it and it definitely ain't the same..The original feels rougher and glows when torched..The one supplied from SVC definitely gives off a plastic smell but withstands the torch temperature (1300 c) without melting or marking..

I reckon the German site were selling the first batch. No boxes, real ceramics from one of the GG sites. They did have the Nautilus before the US site. I bet the next lot from the German one will be in the box with the fake ceramics.

If I were you, I would use the ceramic that I sent you. At least until a few other people have used the fake ones. Just in case there is an issue with them.

There is a way to set it up without no res wire. It's in one of the other threads on here. Colliwobbles set one up like it at the pub last time. Seemed to work ok. It involved folding the wire at the ends to double them up and then twisting them.

i will probably just buy some no res wire to be honest , what is the reason that no res is best ? where can i get it from ?

You will need No Res and Res twisted together if youre not gonna try the 'only no res' method, check out an oddy vid like this :-

I think this is a good place for non res wire, tho maybe othr places have smaller quantities and therefor cheaper.

Its the soft silver wire I believe.
I'm not sure if silver plated copper wire can be used though, its alot cheaper

Buymywire is another good source of res/non res wire . . . I think Blakey uses them.

Blakey does indeed use this supplier, it's the slow boat (about 8 days) but you get plenty of good quality wire for your wonga

Don't remember him doing no res wire though

No he doesnt do NR wire, only the Kanthals
