I've just managed to re-coil one of my vision v3's and it works great. comes in at around 1.8ohms which is what I was aiming for. the only problem is I missed off the collar that goes around the coil. it's working ok without it but I'm not sure if it's needed or indeed what it is there for.
any more experienced folk know the answers?

really you probably won't need it. I have them with my novas and never use them when I rewick.... Glad you got your first successful recoil/wick jane cheers I messed the first one completely (tried wrapping the wire around the wick), the second attempt worked but was reading about 3.5ohms (used a 2mm drill bit to wind the coil - too many turns though). my third one was great, used the drill bit, 3 turns of 0.25 kanthal. then threaded the wick through, after taping the end to make threading easier. I was really chuffed when I got a nice vape out of it. while I was on a roll I made 3 more coils the same and threaded all three onto a longer piece of wick and put it in a safe pot. I now have 3 spare that just need the wick cutting to length when I need them. I feel more confident about doing the a7 rebuildable I have...when it needs it anyway
