As a Heavy smoker I had no idea what Ecigs were until a mate on a cycling forum mentioned them and I thought I'd have a go. I bought a 510 basic kit and it was interesting enough for me to take it further. I've met hardly any other vapers in the flesh and I will tell smokers what little I know if they ask. In a selfish way I don't want the Gubbinsment or tobacco companies getting in with their prices and taxes but I will happily sing the praises of esmoking if I get the opportunity. I am not into, can't do, rebuildables and fiddly stuff but I do have a , Rapidly growing, collection of screwdrivers!

Dave Dorn did a really good piece tonight on VTTV intended for new users giving some invaluable advice. It can easily be used by the older user as a refresher for advice on what to tell someone who asks about them. Snob? not so much a snob but more of a user of nic juice who has grown away from the ego battery and fixed atomisers. I am however guilty of forgetting how I felt in the beginning and how I felt getting into this world of ecigs. We do really need to hold that feeling of uncertainty in us if we are intending to advise new users. Me included by the way.

Hi mp2012,
I have been approached by smokers when they see me vaping and asked all sorts of questions like what's that I've got and can I try it and how much does this cost how much does that cost
I carry alcohol wipes with me if somebody asks can they try my mod I wipe the drip tip and let them have a vape then clean it again. If they want to know a web site where to buy an e-cig I give them a couple of web sites as far as trying to convert a smoker to vaping no I walk away and let them make up their own minds.

Andy At the time of writing, it's not up yet - I'm uploading that piece separately from the show (after a lot of requests) - and it will live at when it's finished transcoding (it's a very, very big file) I'll put the player link here so when it does finish the transcode it'll be viewable: Meantime, the full show lives at www.vapourtrails.tv/?p=4706 and on Youtube at: The standalone piece...

That was excellent Dave #icon_thumbsup# The only thing I'd say though is that for someone who is completely new to e-cigs, they would need to buy 2 Twists or spinners so they would need a second battery & that does start to get a tad expensive Hence why I still think it's best IMHO to start folks off on a an Ego or Riva kit - they can then get themselves a Twist or Spinner at a later date. MP2012, I know how you feel about wanting to let as many smokers know about e-cigs. In fact that was the reason I set this forum up (initially as an ebay group with the same name, over 4 years ago).

I was kind of hoping that, subliminally, they'd get the urge to buy one of each!! A lot of folks buy their first e-cig as a "proof of concept", not knowing whether it will work for them - with the Twist/Spinner, they have the option to "turn it up", and that can have a psychological as well as physical effect. It could, in fact, be enough to be the turning point that proves the concept and prompts the second purchase - of the (absolutely) required second (and third) battery unit and a pack of Visions.
That "turn it up" is what's missing from the Riva or eGo, and why I think the Twist/Spinner route is one that is more likely to be successful for the complete newb.
With all of that said, there's going to be a series of these videos, and I'll be covering all the ground, all with the emphasis firmly on the absolute beginner/tyro/nascent e-smoker...

Another fab show Dave, I do enjoy the haze hour! Also great to see you and cat working together again, currently working through the witching hour and always end up in hysterics when you two are together. Can we have more of you both please, or even better could cat restart the witching hour? So much has changed since she last did it!!!
