How much money, time and effort was wasted on producing that piece of "work?" Well it cost at least $90 to publish it on that site. It's not a peer reviewed study as quite frankly I can't believe that any of her peers could review it without getting her committed for putting it forward in the first place. It's not her peers that worry me - it's the dense politician/antis (you know who and her ilk) that will use crap like that as "evidence" to bin e-cigs.

Nice one Rob. It wasn't to late and I hope others do not think it is. Hopefully your letter will inspire others who have been thinking about writing to their MEP's to do so. We all have so much to lose if we don't. Every letter/email/meeting is making a difference. Actually, another round of emails and letters is probably a good idea, especially since they meet again on the 25th - so the timing couldn't be better!!! Don't let them rest!

It took her a while to get there, but it was entirely predictable. I tried for ages to get folks to understand that all the forums were being watched very closely by folks with an axe to grind, and that their language would be taken and misinterpreted (willfully) to cast aspersions on e-cigs... fell on deaf ears. There's a lesson to be learned here.

As of midnight, the tweet count for #EUecigBAN since 9pm was 4,900, and Glenis the Menace got at least 4,000 of them. I've been jailed (again) as have a few others. We trended in 7th position as of 10:15pm. It's all good!

The ASH report is very positive, but how much power do they actually have when it comes to regulation? a lot - they sit on the MHRA advisory committee and the NICE one, too.

Just gonna +1 this... well said... For the last 20 years or so, we have been getting brow beaten about smoking and now the adverts on the TV are pretty horrific. Now as a smoker of 50 years, I really do not think I am in any position to try to influence anyone, friend, (ex)workmate, family member or anyone else, that they should stop smoking just because I have found an alternative for MY smoking. If other smokers want to try vaping and they ask my advice, then I will do my best to help them buy a decent set up, but this idea that just because we are vapers, that we should somehow be persuading others to Vape is a nonsense. If, while I was still smoking, someone came up to me and tried to persuade me to vape they would have got a swift kick where the sun don't shine. I have been through the gambit of doctors advice, silly pictures on fag packets, "goverment"? warnings, and all that cr*p without my "friends" pushing some chinese electro whatsit in my face and banging on about how healthy it is. Smokers are fed up with being told what they should be doing and where they can and cannot smoke. All I do is Vape. Yes, out in the street and yes, with my e-cig in full view on a lanyard where everyone can see it. But, unless people ask me what it is, it is just there except when I vape and then I am holding it. If someone approaches me and asks about it, then I will explain, but only if asked. If I see someone vaping on an e-lite then good on them. It doesn't mean they want to stop smoking fags, nor does it mean that they are potential members of the vaping community.

I really do think we need to be clear here. There is no way on this planet that using an e-cig of any character can possibly be as potentially harmful as the inhalation of lit tobacco fumes on a daily basis - there's nothing in the science to show otherwise. Talk of silicosis and other lung conditions being a potential risk from various different types of wick are, although a possibility, highly improbable - the risk factor is orders of magnitude lower than smoking (at least 1000 time lower, in other words, and probably even lower than that).
The comparison is like this - compare jumping from a 65th storey window to jumping from a ground floor window. Without a parachute. That's what we're talking about here.
