Same problem? Licorice is one of the juices known to cause problems with some plastics. Get thee a Vivi Nova with a metal tube (I'd put an aluminium or steel drip tip on it as well, to be safe) and you won't have anymore problems like this.

and would i need a plinth for an ego 650 battery

any 510 drip tip will fit a mini nova Gordy, and a type B plinth will cover the threads on your Ego battery

That's not strictly true. I bought a red ally curvy 510 drip tip to go on my red metal mini Vivi & red Twist but it's too small. I do have a bright pink ally Ming-type 510 drip tip (on a pink tank & pink Twist, natch!) that fits beautifully. Will look for the linkie...

Gordy it may well be that I was unlucky with the red one and got an undersized one, perhaps a different one from the same range would have fit. For drip tips that are a little loose, you can try wrapping some plumber's PTFE tape around it. I haven't tried this myself yet as I'm still looking for our tape, goodness only knows where it's gone...
