i couldn't get the wick through the 2 mill hole so i took the top off and fed the wick through both sides, then put a coil on, loads of vapour but as i'm finding with all of my rebuildables i'm getting a harsh burnt taste, what am i doing wrong ? coil came out at 1.4 ohms vaping it at 4 volts

Too much voltage for 1.4 ohms..Drop it to 3 volts and take it up in steps from there..

Much better taste but not as much vapour and what feels like a tighter draw i like loads of vapour and a losser draw does that mean i should make more winds on my coil with a 2ohm output or so ?

Yes, add one or two more windings and/or use a buffer wick to make your windings bigger..
Also draw slowly and don't suck..You should draw at a rate where you feel no resistance..

Yeah the draw is something that never gets talked about much but is crucial to having a good vape..
I made a video a few days back but never posted it as I was going to do some text with it, demonstrating the difference between a "suck" and a measured draw..The difference is immense..

If you tend to suck more and are more comfortable doing that, open out the airhole in the top cap to 1.2 mm with a decent drill bit..It'll make a world of difference..

Yes currently 1mm.. Don't open it out too much or you'll be looking for a new top cap..

Macca, i wound a new 2.4 ohm coil, no buffer ( fiddly ), 4.5 volts more measured draw , Perfect ! Thank you again for the advice, i'm also finding the drip tip has a influence on the draw, i love this one I must say this has been the easiest coil i've built so far, there is loads of room and it can be built with the wick in place ,so its also easy to change without removing the wick , bring on that Zmax, looks like you've nailed that as well
