Just caught this thread and thought I would check in. Been retired and living in Portugal now for nearly two and a half years. My wife and I run a FB group in the Algarve for vapers. We have helped dozens of mainly young Portuguese make the switch and we try to help them along the journey. We are always being asked about our devices whenever we sit in a bar or restaurant people are really interested. Sadly most of them think that ecigs are just as bad as combustibles, so we try to educate them as best we can. A local golf club had about 16 staff that smoked, 15 are now using ecigs and we're working on the last one There are a couple of good shops now, owned and run by passionate vapers, so the tide is slowly turning. So still alive and vaping, playing golf and cycling. Something I could never have done when smoking. This has and continues to be a great site, long may it continue.

It's been a while since I checked in here, but I've just been reminded that it will be two years vaperversary tomorrow. That means it was two years ago today that I bought my eleaf 50w and a subtank mini. I remember playing with it for most of the evening, and wondering if it would help me cut down a bit. Little realising that I was about to have my last ever cigarette. I had messed about with ecigs since 2012 and got a lot of support on this site with rewicking CE4s and trying to get the penelope wires to work properly. I never managed to quit entirely until the advent of sub ohm tanks and haven't looked back since then. I now have a set of aromamizers and a power stations worth of Wismecs and batteries. They work for me, but I do mix up litres of 3mg juice at a time. So whilst I'm patting myself on the back on quitting fags for two years, I wanted to say a huge thank you to all the guys and gals on this site that helped to me make the transition and from what I see, are continuing to help and advise. This is a great site and I still recommend new vapers to drop in and take advantage of the depth of knowledge available for the tasking. Vape on

It's called 4Vapor 4-vapor.com/It's almost directly opposite the bus station on the western end of the town, a short walk up from the old square. I'll be going there later today to stock up on PG & VG.

Normally use TFV4 and Uwell Crown but willing to downgrade to whatever is available! I'm still laughing at this comment. I don't even know why. It's a good news thread though... what a great story. Downgraded to a subtank mini, subox mod, with some wire & cotton to keep it going. We enjoyed a vape in the sun on the terrace, I drank wine , muckyboy was driving

I'll get the blue lights on... muckyboy I'll pm you my phone number, I'm close to Lagos in the western Algarve, so if you're this end I can lend you some gear. If not, there's a couple of good vape shops, one in Quarteira, the other in Albufeira. Sure we can sort you out one way or another.

It's pretty poor here in Portugal too. The TPD is already in full effect, the vape shops are selling 0nic juice in 30ml bottles. The only nic you can buy is in "capsules".
Just to rub it in, I have a couple of atties on their way from China. I was told in the vape shop that since the 20th May, importing from China is not allowed and I will probably lose them. No compensation, they will just be refused entry.
The tracking shows them arriving in Portugal any day now, so I will see what happens. Tempted to just order some more & get them sent to friends in the UK for re-posting to here.

From an EU perspective it would be good for other countries to also mount simultaneous campaigns. Then they would realise it's not just us noisy Brits again. That's starting to happen in France. Some of the French government's health authorities have taken notice of the RCP report. Some positive statement have begun to emerge & French vapers are making a lot of noise. We are not alone

I feel like Oliver Twist, can we have some more please? This is important, maybe not so much for established vapers, we can find workarounds. But for the smokers out there, yet to educated the NNA is fighting hard and deserves the support of all vapers. Thank you

It took me three years of dual use to find the combination of device & juice that allowed me to give up smoking completely. That's despite being a relatively "sophisticated" vaper at the time, coil making, juice making etc. For me, it was learning how to lung inhale & the introduction of sub ohm tanks. Prior to that I had experiment with 50mg juice, and still felt the need to have a fag straight after, it was very frustrating. It's a journey for all of us, trying different things, devices, juices, MTL vs Straight to Lung etc. Some people quit smoking very successfully with cigalikes & good luck to them. Others. like me need something a bit more robust. Smokers need the variety & diversity of devices & methods, to find what works for them. Something that the TPD will squash, and as Clive points out, it will cost some lives. Support the NNA, why wouldn't you?
