the androids all should support flash out of the box like the nexus 7
had a look at the nexus 10 the other day, looks nice with a really high res screen and cheaper than the new ipad too
only thing is it doesnt seem to be quad core like the nexus 7, but I'm sure its fast enough and cant beat that screen

The only issue I had with the Nexus was lack of storage expansion..

The Galaxy Tab 8.9 would be what I would buy..Nice compromise between 7 and 10 inch screens with a USB 2.0 port and SD card expansion..Debenhams have them for sale at £219.00.

Thanks everyone & Maccafan, thats sounds great, they prefer to use a mouse so the usb port would be needed & their eyes arnt as good as they used to be so the 10 inch screens ideal. thats one present sorted:)

You want to use a mouse on a touchscreen tablet? I doubt an Android tablet supports USB mice.. Scratch that it does..

If you root it, to a certain degree yes. You can get the feel and touch of ICS or even JB.

Ah ok. I'm always a bit wary of rooting/jailbreaking, and there's nothing wrong with honeycomb

sorry to be thick but what does VLC stand for ? I'll tell my friend this info, its driving her mad not being able to visits alot of websites, thankyou.

Jailbreaking is usually applied to Apple products..You are trying to do something that Apple does not want you to do and does it's darnest to prevent you from doing.

Rooting is expected of Android devices..

The asus transformer pads are fantastic devices, especially suited to those who aren't sure if they want a table or netbook, as it's both. I'm also a google nexus fan though, and a little bit of an apple hater :/ it has to be said.
