As a newbie to the whole world of vaping, I ordered an Ego T and CE5 starter kit from Exhale three weeks ago. All seems well and I've not touched an analogue for two weeks, so that's a positive step! However, I'm having continuing problems with the CE5 units where they keep leaking, both externally and into the center tube causing me to have wet pockets and e-juice into my mouth respectively. To be fair to Dan @exhale, he has sent me a couple of replacement CE5 units FOC, but sadly these are exactly the same. I'm not over filling them (always put about 1ml in each time) and I'm very careful to not get any juice down the center. Am I doing something wrong or is this to be expected with this type of tank? If it is, can anyone recommend an alternative product that doesn't leak?

Are you screwing the mouthpiece back in? They have a tiny bit of threading on them and they need screwing in finger-tight. We have lots of CE5 style clearos and once I realised they needed to be screwed in I've not had any leakage problems.
ETA - well done on your two-week-versary!

The thing with these type of rebuildables is that there's only 3 ways juice can get into the centre tube (other than obviously by accidentally dripping juice down there as you fill). The first is at the point where the atty head screws onto the centre tube. Check the O ring and make sure it's screwed on tight. The top cap can sometimes catch on the atty head and unscrew the atty a bit as you remove the head, so check that the head is tight each time you take the top cap off. The second is at the point where the top cap presses down on the atty head to make a seal, check that the top cap is screwed on tight. The third is at the point where the wicks exit the centre tube. Check that the little silicone 'top hat' is seated firmly on top of the head to minimise this gap
I hope this helps

what kind of juice do you use? if it is too acidic it may ( eat ) the rubber first before the tank, hence leaking

I've just recently bought the same kit and not had anything particularly to consider an issue, but then I just vape at home, so don't carry them around in pockets etc. I have had the odd occasion where there has been a little leakage or residue from filling, but like others say, there are rubber o rings at the crutial points to stop leaks. One problem I have had is detailed here allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=newmembers&thread=14400&page=2#284052 Another problem I have also found is that the gap you have for refilling is very small. This will be fine for syringe filling, but If you buy the 5ml testers, some of them come in tiny containers and are quite difficult to squeeze, the result being a bit of overspill/mess sometimes. For that reason, I've now bought a Vivi Nova clearo (with the ego-t collar) which appears much better made, has a much bigger gap for refilling and appears to be much better at not leaking (or not as messy to refill). They certainly require less careful use overall (someone may come forward with a better solution). The down side is they are a bit more bulky and a bit heavy, but that's not an issue for me being a home vaper only.

I have a leakage problem with one of mine, occurring at the point where the tank tube screws onto the base of the centre-post. I think I have cured it with a small section of plumbers PFTE tape. I'm not convinced that the polycarbonate tube isn't cracked though, and only use this one around the house for that reason. Have a careful inspection of the plastic, and check this too. The other clearos that I use are rock solid however - I only buy from vendors selling the real Vision branded items, TBF.

I've found that juice is leaking from the two chrome collars at the top and bottom of the clear part of the tank. After emptying the remaining juice out and having a closer look, it seems that the two collars are working themselves loose ever so slightly and if I push really hard, they move back into their correct position. This isn't good and I'm guessing it's a design flaw or just poor production. Anyhow I think it's time to source an alternative system as I don't think CE5s are up to the job. I like the idea of the tank system as you have a visual indicator of how much juice is left so I need, to find a better designed unit. Recommendations anyone?

The novas don't have that design,so might be better for you. A tad of superglue will sort out the ce5s though.

As long as you buy the genuine article I'm confident that they will go on and on. As mentioned in another post, I'm using 2 clearo rebuildables which are in their 8th week, and only one atomiser head change in that time. Brilliant value for a total cost of about 8 and a half quid!! Don't forget that you'll get through more juice with a Vivi Nova, so I've read, and you'll still need to change heads from time to time.

Am I right in thinking that the genuine CE5 article is called the Vision V3? It's so confusing!

I've pulled off the threaded silver collars from both ends of the clear tube, cleaned them off and super-glued them back on. External leaking solved!!! The only problem left to fix is the slow ingress of liquid seeping down the centre airway and onto the battery terminal. I can't think of a way to resolve this (maybe I'll just have to live with it!) unless anyone can suggest a tiny one-way air valve that can be fitted?

Check if the O ring has slipped out from it's position from the base of the innards section..Sometimes the O ring slips out when removing the base or post a photo of the removed innards from the CE5 that is leaking..
