Hi All. I need your advice, and guidance. I will be using the AGA-t with a silica 2mm wick along with 0.2 kathanal wire. How many wraps should I make ? What ohms should I aim for. Will be using my LT v2 as the power base. Have viewed video`s of set up, but am still confused ??? Thank you for your help yet again. jeffc ???

as you have a variable voltage device i shouldnt worry too much about getting the resistance spot on just wrap around 5 wraps and adjust the voltage to suit

Coil is red colour. Not black as per videos Lots of vapour, slight burnt taste, little flavour. Have I wound the coil to tight and strangled wick ? Ohms with 5 wraps 1.9. LT set at 4 volts. Have had 3 goes making new wick and coil each time, as stated above. Further advice please. thank you. jeffc

A 1.9 coil at 4 volts will give 8.4 watts, which is not excessive. You may have strangled the wick. Or there may be an airlock - are the wicks filling the holes so no air can get into the tank?

Ho OnedayIllquit. I have managed to get 2 off 2mm wicks into each hole, and I left the filler screw out. Do you think I could get away with using only 1, 2mm wick into each hole ? Or Have I wound the wick too tight. I used a needle when wrapping the twin wick coil. Thanks for your advice.

Just lower the voltage to 3.5 and start from there..Increase it in 0.1 v and try till you find the right voltage for the juice/wick combo..
2 x 2mm wicks is fine..

Thanks Maccafan. Will try another set up, tomorrow, 3 failures tonight is enough for me. Will follow the instructions as per your tutorial photos. ? Why was the needle still in wick & coil in one of your photos. Thanks for your advice. jeffc

Because the photo showed what I used to support the wick to make the coil..
You should remove it before you fire..

The photo I mean shows the coils connected to the posts, and the wick is wet. Was this to support and position the coil when fastening to the posts ?

The photo was taken after I finished coiling and just before I removed the needle to test fire..The wicks are wet because I had filled it with juice to test that I could fill it with the wicks in place and it was wicking at the time..
You can wet the wicks and make the coil..You will get juice on your hands but prevents the wicks from fraying..
