OK. Got some parts through the post today (wick and wire from cloud9) and set about "doing" the small collection of atomiser coils from various clearos. All going great, like a production line of bits and bobs. Graveyard of wicks one end of the table, fresh atomisers the other. Checked each one with my multimeter. All good. Job done, "fit and fill". 2nd clearo fires up, vape a little, then the battery has some sort of flip out. So, I take the clearo apart, inspect the wires and find one of them has kind of melted into the rubber grommet. No panic as yet, except fearing the worst, I attach a pre-bought nova to the battery and it's stuck on "ON".....just cooks away, no response from the battery switch (little blue light). Have I killed it? Is there anyway to "unlock" it from permanently on? Should I take it to the top of a hill and leave it to die on a rock? Disappointed in all honesty, I thought I'd done it all right.... - - - - Best place for individual Riva 1100s?

It's now trying to communicate with me..... I guess it's "going towards the light" It's stopped running now, gives a green light on the charger (it was fully charged), turns blue on press and then blinks 3 times at me if you try and use it.

Probably shorted it out and probably not safe to use. Yes, this is my worry. How do I safely get rid of it?

Alot of shops have battery collection points in them or the recycling center/local tip. Wait a while though and see if you get any more advice someone may be able to repair it...or you could donate it for a battery post mortem

Put it in your spares box..It's fine and not unsafe..The MOSFET is cooked.. Coil Rebuilds + RIVA = Bad Idea OK, it'll go in the spares/repair box. Are there any standard ego type batteries with in-built short-protection, OR (rather temptingly... .) is there a mod type battery I could consider instead of getting another Riva/eGo. - - - I wish I'd considered this "problem" - I think i will keep re-made atomiser heads for other kit...

OR (rather temptingly... .) is there a mod type battery I could consider instead of getting another Riva/eGo. ...how much is your budget? Good to see you got a definitive answer from Macca, our resident battery guru

I thought batteries would be the least of my problems, but I can't afford to change atomizer heads on clearos at a rate of 100 a year or something silly, hence the effort at rewicking...
