Clearomizers? what the heck are they?

I know this prob was allready asked and answered but couldn't find a thread with a "CLEAROMIZING" answer!
So a clearomizer, what is it?
From what I've found it's basically a transparent cartomizer that also holds more liquid! is this it?
I took a look at ecigwizard and at the video of how to clean one, but didn't quite got it cause my internet connection is slow and couldn't check it through... its insides have some"wires"... is this for "feeding" the atty in it? they look like a good ready to go for a while option instead of regular driping the cartrige!
