I am having problems trying to get the aga s to not taste burnt, I thought I had made a good job of the coiling no hot spots and an ohm rating of 2.1 but I can't get rid of the horrible burn taste. I can't line up the air hole with the wick its a full half tun out, plus one of my ego batteries only works intermittently. Attachments:

Probably the wick is fully occupying the wick hole and not allowing it to wick because there is no way for air to replace the used juice in the tank..Easiest way to tell if this is the problem is to remove the bung on the opposite side and try it. If that is the case, you need roll the wick thinner so that it is loose in the hole.
The photo is very blurred to tell but if the ego battery is working intermittenly it means the coil is getting too hot and shorting on the wick. I trust that it is a genuine ego battery. Not the best choice to make rebuildable wicks on but at least it has decent short circuit protection.

Thank you macca the wick is very loose in the hole and the coil. I made the coil separately on a screw to make sure I got the gaps even then attached it with the screw still in the coil and slowly unscrewed it out before inserting the wick. I made the wick with a paperclip inside to keep the center open. One important lesson I have learnt with the rebuildables is to not lay them down all the juice pours out LOL!

Is the coil not touching the wick then?

Looks ok to me from what I can see..And if all the coils glow evenly then it should be fine..It does wick when you fill it with juice I take it..
Only thing I can suggest is to sand down the top cap to get the hole to line up and lower the voltage a bit if you can if you have it on a twist.
What juice are you trying on it?

Dont forget with the aga s , if the air hole is a half a turn out (180 degees )then use the fill hole as the wick hole

Macca it does wick okay with plenty of vapor but it tastes very burnt. I am using cappuccino, I have the same in my Vivi nova to compare the flavor. The battery I am using is duel voltage its set on 3.8 not the 4.2. I haven't tried it on my lava tube yet because I didn't want to damage it. The air hole falls between the two wick holes, I spent an hour sanding it but it only screwed on an extra mm.

I would suggest you put it on your Lavatube and start from the lowest Voltage setting and slowly increase it in steps and try. I think coffee/cappuccino flavours need very low heat for good flavour.
You are more likely to damage the ego type battery than the LT.
