Out of interest, do any members exercise on a regular basis? I use weights 4 times a week and have been doing so for 40 years. I think my vaping has benefited my sessions as i feel i can do more now than when i was smoking. This could be all in the mind i suppose, but i dont feel so knackered after a training session, which usually takes 40 mins or so.

Changed my life. Did no exercise for years then started vaping, felt like I could be healthier and exercise. Bought a bicycle. Have lost about 3 stone and waist measurement gone down 2 sizes.
One thing I have noticed from vaping is that the usual overeating and weight balloon that always occured when I tried to quite smoking old style has just not happened.

Nice one ashmal. The more good publicity for vaping the better. Shame there are no runners on the forum, like to know if it has increased stamina.

just a bit of info that was put on the forum that always sticks with me: a lady joined the forum and had been vaping eg 3 months, and her lung capacity went from 50% to 75% in 3 months, her doctor was very pleased for her

Wouldnt harm to have a sticky on this. Factual examples of physical improvements in health and well being. It would make good reading and aid the cause so to speak. Just a thought.

Before injuring my back I went to gym 3X a week and swimming 5/6X a week and could notice a big improvement in my breathing while swimming and I thought it was good before.

I do a lot of mountain walking. Never been a heavy smoker, but was regularly on 10 an evening all my adult life (46 now). The last few years I've really noticed my lack of lung capacity to walk up hill and talk, involving lots of gasping and composing my breathing in mid conversation. Anyway, only a month into vaping and no cigs, went away last weekend and noticed a definite difference. Still struggling with breathing a little bit when walking up hill at pace and talking, but nowhere near as bad as before. massive improvement of lung capacity overall it appeared.

I've been playing badminton a couple of times a week pretty much all my adult life - so best part of 30 years. I'd noticed over the last few years that the young 'uns were starting to beat me far too often, not because I'd got worse but that I was getting out of puff. About 3 or 4 weeks on no cigs, I was starting to feel that less and less and now I can run the legs off 'em again The difference is amazing!

I had to blow up 6 balloons for Chris's birthday (I know it's not really exercise as such) before i stopped smoking it would have taken about 40 minutes, I'd have been out of puff, needing my inhaler and trying to avoid asthma attack. On Friday all 6 were blown up, and put up within 10 minutes. Didn't even realise until Chris said the next day I'd never have been able to do that before!
