Thinking of batteries for the Vamo, is the LG 18650 D1 too short at 65mm? I think my Vamo cuts off at 3.2V It seems to beat the Panasonic 3400mAh down to 3.2V at 5A according to their data: lygte-info.dk/review/batteries2012/Common18650comparator.phpYou have to pick the batteries to compare, I did the compare at a charge of 4.2V (but it gives curves for & the battery is designed for 4.35V giving extra capacity if you have the charger for it and assuming the Vamo can cope with 4.35V, I also assume it would suffer less stress and last longer if charged to only 4.2V) It's on ebay 2 for £12

The vamo can cope with the voltage okay. When you have the two small batteries in use there is 8.4 volts there as they are in series. That`s an excellent test table

Doh. I have ordered them, didn't realise they were ready made, what a bonus. I took your advice after reply message you sent me. I also ordered some wick and wire on sunday from somewhere else so I could get them prepared, but I don't have too now. so if you have one that means you like them If you have two that means you have upgraded but if you have three, does that mean your an enthusiast or a nutcase

Nutcase mate lol, I love them, solid sturdy, not keen on the Chrome one, it wears away, but love the Black Chrome one and the Stainless Steel one in particular, should stay looking good. The electronics in it is great, I like the display, especially with it being horizontal and not vertical like some mods priced around about the same.

I am using a chrome one now, had it since new years eve, i don't have any qualms about it though I did have to get a hot spring. I had read about the black coating coming off on some and after that it swayed me to get the chrome. I only bought the SS one because I read all the posts on AAEC, so am I right in presuming that if the SS one is faulty, I can ask AAEC to repay me. just joking. Have to agree its a great piece of kit. I just hope it will last for a good while. you pay for what you get so they say but its definitely a bargain. If you get any more, I would say your trying to corner the market then bang, you be selling them on at a hefty mark up lol.

haha, the Black Chrome is really weird, they must have had a few attempts at getting it right, mine doesnt have a mark or scratch on it, no sign of anything peeling off, looks great. As regards the reliability of the Vamo, the only real problems I have seen are the spring issue, a few other odds and ends, but when you consider how many people have them now it speaks volumes. I had a problem once because I dropped mine and the Vivi Nova that was on the end of it snapped at the threading on the bottom. Luckily got it out okay and the Vamo worked fine.

I thought you was going to say you dropped it and broke your toe. Its great that they have made the vamo at this price otherwise I would be stuck with ego's or something similar. Provari and other mods are way out of my budget even the the rda rebuildables, I think I am contented now with my stock. Have you considered a wrap for the chrome one, might be an option for you.

I did, dont fancy it really, another thought I had was to strip it back to brass and then heat treat it and dipping it in oil, you can get some great effects from oxidising brass that way. Then spaying it with car clearcoat and baking it on properly to keep the new finish. I have a bit of experience of car spraying and still have a lot of the gear.

Robby why don't you set up a vamo spray painting buisness, its a cool idea and my car could do with a paint job while you doing the vamo. I think in reality it should be kept in the original colour because one day you might see be selling it on the antiques roadshow and any paint job might decrease the value lol
