My supplier isn't going to do anything. I've discussed it before to him. Is there anything I can do? If you paid using PayPal you have up to 45 days to open an Item Not As Described dispute via the PayPal resolution centre. You can request a partial refund for the cost of the battery, request a replacement battery or opt for a full refund but PP will probably require you to return the kit to the vendor via Recorded Delivery at your own expense. Email the vendor that you will open a PP dispute if he doesn't replace the battery or the kit. Point out that your consumer rights under the Distance Selling Regulations entitle you to replacement or refund for faulty goods. The vendor must replace the goods or refund you within 30 days of your written request. You aren't obliged to return the goods to the vendor but must hold them safely until the vendor can arrange a mutually convenient time for collection. Advise him that you will report the denial of your statutory rights, (a criminal offence), to his local Trading Standards Office & will claim reimbursement of any out of pocket expenses via www.moneyclaimonline.orgLet us know what he says

yea this seems pretty dodgy, the battery could have shorted and that can be dangerous, besides its not as if its such a pricey item to replace, nor is the charger. Its also way less common than atty/carto problems too.
