Not had a cig since day 1 of vaping, never felt the need to be honest, even on bad vaping days and I have had many.. I knew as soon as I bought my kit that this was for me, I cannot stand the smell of them and can't be with people that smoke..sanctimonious ? probably but the thought of smoking again makes me feel sick. I smoked for 50 years so i expected I would relapse but I have not, hopefully never will. Don't beat yourself up if you do need one, I just hope you don't enjoy it! # #

I cannot stand the smell of them and can't be with people that smoke..sanctimonious ? I understand this. Even when I was smoking roll-ups I couldn't sit next to a taylor-made ciggy smoker. There is something about the smoke that comes off the end of a Marlb' or even a Silk' that just burns my nose and throat. My missus comes outside to smoke when I'm sat on the back doorstep vaping. It drives me mad...

I still have 1 on a morning everyday. I was on 3 a day but then forgot to smoke so went down to 1. Occasionally I really want one so I have it but then don't have anymore. I prefer the taste of vaping so tend to stick to one a day.

For a while before I got my first proper kit I'd have between 3 & 5 a day (down from 25 a day). Once I had my Riva kit that went to one in the morning and one in the evening, then just the morning one, then none within a week. Apart from a pack on holiday I've not had any and not really felt the need or desire. Occasionally I feel like trying one but I remember when I tried a puff on my wife's cig a few months back and it tasted foul (I even had to wash my hands immediately to get the smell off them). While you're on the cigalikes you'll find it hard to kick the last few but I hopefully like me you'll find that once you get a "proper" kit you probably won't actually need to. I do occasionally fall out of love with vaping (especially when I have a cold) but that's when I distract myself with new shinies.

I bought my e cigs just over a month ago on the argeement to myself that i smoke no more, since my 1st vape i havn't looked back. I go outside at work for a vape amongst smokers, i seem to find it so easy to avoid a fag, and the smokers are turning to vaipers lol , ive realy supprised myself after aprox 35 yrs of smoking and not been able to stop, untill I bought the ego ecigs.

I succeeding in convincing my wife to cut back from 10 a day on November the 25th. After experimenting with a cartridge fed nu-cig, she's now using an Ego-C, with Golden Virginia liquid (8mg). 'Leaf Reversion' has occurred on a few occasions, but probably no more than five times in almost a month.
I gave up 15-20 Hamlets (or French equivalents, when I could get them) a day, 13 years ago and now vape for pleasure. I praise her for all the 'gaspers' (awful Russian stinkers) she's avoided. I read your posts and perceive the pride behind the statistics quoted, each set a personal milestone in triumph.
Encouragement has to be rational, lest it sounds compromising, and quitting is a difficult threshold to cross. I believe the comment from 'smoothnshiny' is axiomatically positive as it stresses achievement. Enigmatic reversion is not failure, it's just a single step in the wrong direction, that persistence corrects.
After all life itself, is an exercise in exceptions ...

Cakey, there's quite a few 'dual fuellers' around who vape and smoke. I'm not one of them, but I've seen them post on this forum and other forums too, so you're not alone. It's down to the individual, there's no set rules, so no need to worry.

I had a major melt down a couple of days ago and bought tobacco (25g) Smoked 4 or 5 rollies then thought to myself what the hell am I doing, I don't even like it any more and gave nearly a full pouch away. It's no big deal I have not smoked for months and I think if I need a few fags now and again then so be it. But I suspect after realising I didn't actually want them anyway, next time I probably won't bother buying tobacco. What I am trying to say is don't pressurise yourself into stopping as it won't work. If you want a fag, have one and I'm sure you'll soon realise like I did that it's far more enjoyable to vape your required nicotine rather than smoke it.

Basically what it comes down to is that, this is not a Smoking Cessation Forum for people to urge others to give up cigarettes. It's a Vaping Forum to discuss Electronic Cigarettes. You are here because you vape and not because you are an ex smoker. If you have the occasional cigarette, pint , cream cake it doesn't matter. You are still a vaper.
