Great choice! The heads are all you will really need to replace and are available for £2.50 ish from vape escape, ukecig store etc. Should need changing every few weeks and are dead easy to do.

As Perpy says, it is hard to say how often things need replacing. But as your mum is a fairly light smoker, the batteries should last at least 6 months & even up to a year or more. The cartomisers at least a week each. The clearomiser a couple of weeks & she will most likely get through about 2ml of eliquid per day.

Thank you everyone, those estimates give a clearer picture. I was worried I had to buy the whole thing every fortnight or something -- not sure my purse could handle that!

The e-liquid arrived today (with a free sample of Chocolate Mint flavour!). It all smells really nice, and there's plenty there so it should keep her going for a while. I better get it all ready by steeping it...
