Hi All. Now that I am using mods with separate batteries. (Vamo, LT,V2). I read that you suggest usage of battery charging bag for safety. Where can I buy one of these ? What do they actually do,? Stop fires ? ??? stop explosion ? ??? Thanks for your continued help. jeffc

This is what they do:
they tested a battery pack being overcharged in a pack and without a pack, quite a difference!

Not sure I'd trust them tbh, I cant see how they'd help, and that video doesn't clear it up for me, I've seen lots of these videos of batteries being deliberately over charged, in some there is a lot of flame, in some a lot of gas and little flame, so it's less than conclusive as to whether the bag did anything at all. My doubts come from the amount of flammable gas released after over charging a battery, that gas has to go somewhere, and it clearly isn't staying in the bag, unless it's airtight, in which case it's creating a recipe for explosion. The one advantage I can see is that if the battery does explode during venting, it reduces the risk of damage to persons or property from projectiles, parts of the battery or charger flying around.
By all means, if it makes you feel better, get one, but please still take all the necessary measures to make sure you DO NOT overcharge your batteries.

Hi. Have placed order with E-cigwizard. Feeling lot safer now, when charging batteries in the future. Don`t want to burn down the house, especially at Christmas, with all the decorations around the house. Thanks to all for the info. Merry `Safe` Christmas to you All. jeffc

I think it just contains a fire if there is one and vents the smoke/gases out, if its explosive gas I guess that is a bit of an issue though.

I use an old ammo box with vent holes.
Have had a couple of smokers when charging Li-Po's but no bada-boom.
You can buy them at loads of places, very common in the RC mod world (I fly model helicopters, sad isn't in).
One of those bags will save your bacon if things start to fry, but a can is better (and cheaper long term).

Surely a half decent charger will stop charging when the batteries are fully charged?
