Mixing my own

Hi
I have decided to take the plunge and try mixing my own. I THINK I have a rough idea what I want but am still confused about the nic. Some of it is PG based ? and I'm not sure what strength to buy.
I just want to make some minty, menthol fruit ones or a caramel. I want mainly VG, in my finished juice at 10mg nic something like 10pg 90% vg or even 100% vg. Can someone please point me in the direction of what nic to buy and the best quality supplier.

Hi there is a mixing thread and of course there will be someone along shortly to give adice I fancy mixing to and I am also alittle bit confused ??? Think it would be good if the seasond mixers would bring out an idiots guide book or in my case a mixing guide for the very stupid and in large print coz I can never find my glasses

The flavourings that I have come across are all PG based so assuming you go for 20% flavouring you will get a 80/20 VG/PG ratio although there could be VG based flavours available. As regards nic base

I have used both of these, Nicvape is in the USA but is better value if you can wait a couple of weeks they do up to 75mg nic base which is better value long term, cig-eliquid are UK based, hope this is helpful. Dave

Download Breakthru's mixing calculator . . . it really is the best there is, although there are a number of Vendors who do also have perfectly adequate more basic versions available on there sites.

But this is brilliant if you want to use several concentrates in the same mix . . . .

Thank you Dave and Perpetua.
Still a little uncertain so wondered if I bought 12mg unflavoured nicotine can I just add a flavour or two to it.? Presumably as its already at 12 it wouldn't need to be diluted further ?
Think I would prefer to start with this till I gain more confidence. What is the average amount of flavouring that I would add or is that just down to personal taste

You're not being thick, so don't apologise for asking questions, having that confidence is also key to mixing a vapeable brew.

Thanks for your help Perpetua. I vape anywhere between 8-12 nic strength.
I love caramel, maple type flavours and minty flavours. The reason that has prompted me to mix my own is the fact that I want to know what I am vaping. Worried about the Diacetyl which is probably in the caramel juice ( Sod's law )

The average add flavour 1ml to every 10ml but again that depends if the flavour is concentrated
then you would add less and some are realy strong like menthol i tend to add to taste but normally 1ml
if i was you i would buy my nic in anything from 50 nic upwards and use ejuice.breaktru.com

I only have an ipad rab so can't download that as its not compatible. I gather it doesn't make sense to buy 12mg nic then?

I always use the calculator on Liberty Flights website, just put in the strength of your nic base the strength you want to finish with, the amount of flavour you want, I would sugest 10-20% to start, water/vodka can be left as it is or you can alter to suit press calculate and it will give the answer, any problems and I'm sure we can help. I doubt it Pad, a custard/vanilla type is more likely . . . even then the amount is miniscule compared to all the chemicals we inhaled in cigarettes.
