Up until recently i was very cynical about these competitions to win fantastic prizes that seem to pop up all over the place. I had never heard of anyone i know winning anything and i certainly hadn't. A few months back Mr Dolly was working for a nursing agency which used an umbrella company on its payroll to reduce the amount of tax he would have to pay. If he agreed to join it he was entered into a draw to win an iPad. We never really thought about it since. Out of the blue several months later he got a phone call to say he had won it!! I know it's not the biggest prize on the planet, but being able to buy one was way down our list of priorities. I was even more thrilled when it arrived as he gave it to me!!
Have you ever won anything worth having?
I have heard of people who spend their whole life entering every competition under the sun. Maybe i should start doing it. Not sure i have the patience though.

I used to enter lots of comps, my biggest win was a white fender guitar, mr BC had always wanted one as he has been into music since a child, also won FOTT comp on here to guess the amount of medals England won in Olympics, got 20 bottles of juice, still working my way through, was a great comp and very generous, won a jimmy jack mod here too from Todd BC

Well done BC! You just reminded me i won the Todds giveaway a few weeks back. Just remembered something else. When we lived in Australia I got 5 numbers up on their lottery. I got just under $1,000 but the sickening thing was to win the jackpot you had to have number 19, i had 18!!... i nearly cried. Would have got $2,000,000

We got 5 numbers too a couple of years back I think it was a strange amount like £1344 came in handy but not as handy as the jackpot would have been

Have to go back over 40 years, late 60s, when I was in digs, working in a bank. There was another regular staying there, and he, the landlady and me did a syndicate on the football pools every week. One week we won £750, in those days a lot of money, enough for the other guy to put a deposit on a house. Don't know what happened to my share, was just out of my teens, probably booze and women! One thing I do remember, is that as the cheque was in my name it went through my account at the bank and I paid the other two their share. On the next visit by the auditors it was spotted, and I got a written warning and a verbal haranguing for 'gambling'. Needless to say, it wasn't long before I told them where to stick my career. Often think if I'd stayed I could be on million pound bonuses by now!

Not the same, but I was sat with another delivery driver whilst I worked at Tate & Lyle ,idle chit chat waiting for sugar to unload, He checked his lottery ticket with me and his 6 numbers came up, next day I found out it was 1.4 million that he had won (he took my number and phoned me), He sent me a cheque for £1000 through the company mail so it was a complete surprise, most welcome. He sold up his house and now lives in Spain, we still keep in touch through social media. Jammy git He also got me Dinner in Cadburys staff canteen lol, bless him.

I'm quite an avid comper.
My biggest prize was a day for 4 at Machester velodrome with Sir Chris Hoy. Lots of training, lunch and stuff. It was great fun. Chris is rather hot too. What lovely thighs he has! With that prize also came £1400 of Halfords vouchers.
I've also won a printer, handbags, perfume, about 6 mascaras, Russel Brand DVD (I love him) 12 bottles of wine, £250 Snow+Rock vouchers to name a few. I used to keep a spreadsheet of my wins. A bit sad, I know. A Pringles speaker arrived today. I won that on facebook.
