When I recoiled my RTA it works perfectly. However after about 48 hours I start getting a burnt taste from the coil. This is after about 2 tanks.
I have it coiled at 2.6ohm, on a 3mm wick and vaping at 3.6V
Any ideas what is causing it to go off so quickly?

Maybe your juice has a lot of sugar in it?
Some juices like RY4 have a lot of sugar in them and caramelisation occurs quicker..

Have you checked that it is still reading 2.6 ohms?

Macca has it there with the caramalisation, it tastes rank. You can remove the whole wick and coil and hold it in a lighter flame till all the wick goes nice n white and re-fit it. Also, when you say RTA which rta are you using, if it's clockworks RTA then try using 2mm wick.

Yes its a clockworks RTA. I am vaping Grants Vanilla Custard so I assume this has a lot of sugar.
Could that be the answer then?

Very possibly yes, but 3mm wicks I find get strangled in the wick holes and restrict the ability to let the juice flow. I always used 2mm wick for this tank and add a buffer wick at the coil only.

However i enlarged my holes slightly to take a 3mm wick, as that is my preference. Also if it was strangulation it would happen almost straight away not after 48 hours, wouldn't it.

If you post a close up picture of your wick and coil arrangement it might help others diagnose the problem more easily.. But 2 tanks of high sugar e-juice will caramelize your 3mm wick quite quickly especially if it is going through a lot of juice quite quickly.. My stainless wick gunges up quite fast when using RY4 and I have to remove and burn it every two days and that's not even two tanks..With homebrew tobacco extract I had to do it every day..
