1. I use paper towels to dry all the bits, especially the wicks. Then dry burn until the coil glows orange. 2. Try it and see if Chrissie gets out her whacking stick I see it as the new users section is for help with starting, general vaping for slightly more advanced questions.

Will it not burn it out using dry burn? Colli explained it a bit better. Most clearos have Silica or glass fibre wicks, essentially glass so it won't burn. If you replace the wicks with cotton don't do it as the cotton will burn. The coil can get a bit gunky after use and dry burning helps clean this off so it is normal to do this.

The coils benefit from a dry burn especially if you are using a darker coloured juice, of something with chocolate or coffee in the title. I think it must be the colouring as much as the flavour which gunks up the coil, but they bounce back fairly well after the dry burn. Andy

No2) when is an acceptable time to stop posting on the absolute beginners/ new members and use the other subjects,i don't want to jump the gun. 1) CE5s don't need drying in the same way as a clearo that is one piece. Take it apart and stick the central post/tube back on your battery WITHOUT THE PLASTIC TIP (not in the plastic tank/tube). You can gently squeeze (not pull) the wicks with some kitchen towel before doing this. You can blast the wick a couple of times to dry out the wick and/or to burn off gunk until the coil glows red and it no longer lets of smoke/steam. I do it a lot. Basically, on all my clearos, I get gunked up coils which leads to bad tasting vape. When I'm through my juice (1.6mls on CE5) I take it apart and check the coil underneath the plastic "tip". If it's blackened and nasty, I'll give it 5-6 (?) short blasts. 2) Ask if you can, are new-ish users not able to post elsewhere?

New members can post anywhere they like The New members board is mainly for introductions/help getting started. After that, it's best (as they will most likely get more replies) if members ask further questions on the general vaping board.
