I have been through the forum looking to see if anyone else has had this problem and I can not find any posts... but apologies if this has already been asked.
When I am using my Lavatube there is a problem with the fire button. With this model when you press the fire button 5 times it displays the resistance of your atty. Now when I am trying to vape all of a sudden I get fresh air, and the resistance is displayed.
Now I think the problem is there is an issue with the contact on the button and although I am holding the button to fire, there is something happening to the switch which is making it fire 5 times until the resistance shows.
Can anyone suggest anything that I can do to resolve this, it is rather frustrating.

I think to get to the switch I would need to take out all the guts and that's easy enough... getting it all back into place and still working... is what I am afraid off.

Try spraying, a little, around the edge of the button. It has a slight foamy action and may penetrate well enough to clean. Spray it, without the battery in the mod, and keep pressing the button to try and work it in. Then leave it for a an hour before trying with the battery in. You can repeat this a few times and it might clear it up. The problem is I don't know the construction of the switch to give device dependant advice.

I've had the same problem with one of my LT's. It appears the ones with the black buttons seem to play up. I keep squirting loads of contact jollop inside the tube & it's ok for a while, but then plays up again. I've given up with it now.

Thanks cornersruns, I will give that a try. And chrisjw, my model has the chrome button, it has been playing up for a few weeks now. I will give the contact cleaner a go and nurse it along til my vamo arrives in the post then the LT will probably be retired... or taken to pieces and I might try using the boards to build a mod.

Barry, sorry if this is a daft question, but you are leaving it for long enough after checking the resistance before you try and vape, aren't you? As it has to be left for a few seconds, or it won't fire for you, but instead continues to display the resistance.

No questions are daft but yes I am leaving it long enough. It is happening when I am not checking the resistance. I can be vaping away quite the thing then all of a sudden I get fresh air, and I thought maybe I was just pushing the button 5 times slowly and it was displaying the resistance but even when I press and hold the button and don't come off the resistance will appear and I get a lung full of fresh air.

I have only had it just over 3 months and this has been happening for a couple of weeks now. I might give it a blast with compressed air just in case there is something lodged in the button. Another issue I have is that the threads on the end cap have split and are breaking up so I am going to have to replace the endcap as well. I know the LT is cheap but I would have expected it to last longer than 3 months before getting any problems.
