Argh.... Just when you think you have all bases covered, something jumps up and bites you. I've given up on cartos for now and have been building a team of clearos. I have 3 or 4 given over to my fav' juices. Then another few for rotating etc. Anyway, I have kept 3 atomizers (510/306) for "one-off" vapes and testing liquid...but none of them are playing ball. I can't swap flavours very easily as it just takes ages to get one "out" and get another "in". Anyway, I can't taste anything in any of them now...they're flavour-free zones...and it's not like they are tired and old, one of them was ordered after Xmas and has just done 2ml (if that) of jack-t-r and mint choc chip.... So, 2 bits of advice if I may... 1) Is it worth actually buying a £10 bottle of vodka to wash them out. Would this be more efficient long term than just blowing out juice and "waiting". If so, do they need soaking for hours zzzzz and then drying out overnight? zzzzzz 2) Would it be worth getting a RDA, it looks to me that an IGO, for example could probably be rinsed under a hot tap and re-filled. I don't really want to empty a 2-3ml clearo just to try some juice... Ta.

Run them under the hot water tap for a minute, blow them out and let them dry, b4 adding new oil just give them a few blasts on your battery so the atty burns red hot, should sort them out.

Can't speak for the vodka trick as haven't tried it yet. I've got a 306 (plus a couple I've not opened yet) and so far not had too much trouble with getting flavours in and out. I've also got an IGO-L and from my experience so far, it does seem quicker to change flavour. Haven't actually rinsed it out under water yet, just mopped up any excess "old" juice with a dry tissue and given it a wipe with a wet one before adding new juice. Still takes a few hits, but works ok.

I bought a cheap half bottle of Vodka and have just soaked a clearo in the bottom of a cup with some, to get rid of a menthol flavour and it worked a treat God knows what it would do to your insides

Yes - a dry burn is usually the answer. Soaking in vodka for a day or so loosens up the gunk and makes it easier to burn the rest off.
I'd definitely consider an RDA though - they give a great vape once you have got the hang of them and after the initial cost of coil and wick last more or less indefinitely - my first one has had at least 20 coils in it at a few pence a time and is still going great. Like you say, they are very easy to wash out and dry burn.

I'd kind of taken my eye off the ball with dripping-type rebuildables....got a bit obsessed with Novas and keep umming about AGAs too.... I'm up for an iGo-L, what about something from here? www.vapingthings.com/REBUILDABLE_ATOMISERS_WITH_EXTRAS_FROM_1199/p1311952_7487632.aspx

ive boiled attys n cartos in distilled water before. the stuff ya put in car batteries or irons. id put enough in a saucpan to cover them n boil it for 5 mins then change the water. keep doin that till ya get no more smell from em and put em aside for a few days to dry somewhere warm. when their dry give em a quick dry burn and theyll work good again.

I tend not to use it now I have the Igo-L tho as the igloo holds more (20 drops) and is easier to re-coil

Thanks smudge. Few questions... Do you separate the strands for use? If so how many strand do you use in an IGO? Could you also use this in the AGA-T (not feeling mesh wick for anything other than menthol ) How many strands would you use in an AGA?

You're welcome. As for the rest, I'm pretty new to this re-wicking and coiling business, so still feeling my way. I don't separate the strands as such, just loosen them a bit so that it's sort of frayed at the ends. Works a treat for me, but like I say I'm definitely no expert
