I would be careful of cheap ones as they will not be overly accurate. I used to work in an electronics factory and at one point we bought some cheap multimeters, however all of them failed the calibration checks and ended up in the bin. If you can find one buy a quality one like a fluke.

A Fluke? Yeah and have a string of Provaris around my neck! Last time I looked the cheapest Fluke was around £120 and averaged at £200

I have a cheap one and an expensive analogue one. Both do the trick (generally), except I don't know how to rig up an analogue one (without it's own power) to check attys. I only use the cheap "yellow-peril" for e-cig stuff. It's not that accurate and the first 9v battery lasted 6 days.
If you want to check continuity and get a rough ohms reading, £2.87 with free postage is a bit special.....

Lol, I have seen them on flee bay going for a good price, I have one and it's well worth the extra money. They are known for there accuracy, which would be something you would require when measuring such small levels of resistance.

I use fluke for work , but for getting a rough idea on the resistance of a coil pfft why waste money

Must admit I was tempted by a TIS multi meter today in CEF , includes built in digital thermometer all for £38 + vat . Ideal for work and I can look after my fluke at home
