Raggy as far as I know they are perfectly ok to use for cleaning, if you are worried about them being too wet, what I usually do is to wipe away any excess moisture from the batteries and the inside of the provari with some kitchen roll. I've had no probs with any of my mods or batteries using these................. I also think that it evaporates pretty quickly in any event, but if you are worried about dampness, use kitchen roll to dry off Edited to add.............. not sure whether it is water, but I can confirm that I got the link for these from here when I was asking where to get some alcohol for cleaning

If I wanted to clean the threads and contacts, I would spray the contact cleaner you have on a piece of cotton and wipe the threads and spray it on the end of an earbud and clean the posi brass contact inside..I do it all the time.
If you want to put liquid in and swish it, buy 99% IPA. But don't expose plastic ie., the display lens to IPA for too long or it will start clouding.

thanks macca, i will do this later today. there is nothing wrong and it is not dirty or anything just wanted to periodically clean the terminals.

for the threads you cant beat a good metal cleaner like cape cod or silvro ... this will remove any oxidisation too thanks gordy, ive cleaned the business end, battery contact, spring and both threads using a bit of the spray, sprayed into the can cap used with ear buds and there does seem to be a slight improvement. there wasnt really anything wrong but my cartos did seem a tad quite even when new. i normally use a tiny amount of vaseline on the threads. i have brasso is that any use on threads?. raggy................
