Lovely post again Sam, Dont give up on the juices yet, they are most likely fresh and need a little steeping (think brewing), put them somewhere dark with loose caps for a week or two and you will see a difference, apple can taste very chemical like in the beginning. Also if youre gonna go the cartomizer route (lots do) try to get used to keeping your apple carto next to your apple juice etc. its horrible putting menthol in a carto after its had coffee in it Good luck and glad to hear your liking the adventure.

1) I am a teeny-weeny-tiny wee bit disappointed that the flavours are not as intense as I had imagined they would be and I also am not getting the throat-hit that I desire. Is it the juice? Does the 'device' need a breaking-in period? Do I need another doofer-dangle thingymajig to make it oooomph more? Yeah, I'm technically minded, it's obvious. In answer to this, its a multi faceted thing. As mentioned the Throat hit depends on how much PG and Nic the juice has.The trade off is that if you dont have VG or its a low percentage, you get poor vapour amounts.I generally go for a 70/30 mix.Regards "breaking in" some Clearos and atty heads do get better with use as the gubbins they get covered with during manufacturing burns off.I would say that virtually all of us that have been vaping a while now, will have started with your setup.its a great starter setup. That said,to get the very best out of your juices you will need a variable voltage/wattage device. All juices arent the same, they all contain different flavourings etc,and so will vapourise at different voltages/wattages.With the rivas youre stuck with the one voltage,so you cant tailor the voltage to get that "sweet spot" on flavours. Also i will say that juices are an odd thing.Take one juice and it gets rave reviews by a few,so you buy it and it tastes like a wet dog blanket to you. There are literally hundreds and hundreds of them out there, you WILL find some that suit you,its a Voyage of Discovery,DO take advantage of Samples,or you will end up with a box of bottles of E Juice you dont like!

I find the carto's mute the flavour more than the clearo's. I am probably a bit weird, but I find changing voltage / low ohm heads don't change the taste much - but make a big difference to throat hit / vapour production. Undoubtedly the thing you are missing is Vanilla Custard Oodles and oodles of Vanilla Custard Flavour E-Juice (I love Vanilla Custard if you hadn't noticed)

throat hit is dependent on the nic level of your juice(higher is harsher), whether it is PG or VG (PG better TH, VG more vapour), the resistance of your atomiser (low gives hotter vapour), which atomiser it is, what its airflow is like and how charged your battery is (depending on what you are using - voltage output can decrease as the battery drains) By the way, concern over the size of the device wanes over time :-) Thank-ee kind Syre. I am using 18mg at the moment, I don't know whether I ought to go 'higher, higher' and use a Brucie Bonus or not. I was smoking Mayfair KS dark, so not sure what the nic content was on them. I'm vaping the VE samples which I think are a 70/30 ratio. I'm not sure if I can customize the ratio with only buying the 5ml sample bottles for the time being? The atomizers I'm using are standard resistance - came with the starter's kit. Yeah, have had no real substantial TH from a fully charged battery. The Riva battery is supposed to be a corker, though, isn't it. Don't ask me about its output or OHMS...as far as I was concerned, before I hit this forum, OHMMMM is what Bhuddists chant in meditation? XXX

get spare drip tips Flavours - your taste buds are shot from smoking, it'll take time for them to get back to anything near normal. Also, it does take time to find flavours that really suit you, it can be one of the most frustrating aspects of vaping! If you feel more comfortable vaping in public with a cig-a-like then do that. I have a couple of cig-a-likes that I use at work. do whatever works for you, there are no rules My hubby is also pleased that I've stopped smoking and also has no idea how much money I've spent! Don't sell your kidney, sell Mr Sam or the children first Thank you! Yes, I am coming to terms with the reality that my taste buds were/are dead. I always consoled myself, though that I was never quite as bad as my late ex Mother-In-Law who smoked 40 unfiltered Park Drive fags a day and had to take 5, yes, 5 sugars in her tea, just so she could taste it! She died 2 years ago of Emphesyma (sp?). If only she had discovered vaping. I would rather sell a marketable body part than the Mister or my Sprogs. With the amount that they all put away, I think the buyer would be back sharpish looking for a refund. Bluddy plague of locusts they are. XXX

3) I have never seen anyone, vaping in public. Ever. I imagine I would get stoned if I produced this little baby anywhere round here. Somehow the cig-a-like was less embarrassing. Yeah, I need to get over myself, as they say. I have had some very strange looks out and about with a vamo in BIG mode, come to think of it I got the same looks before I started vaping > Haha! Yes, come to think of it, I actually do too, but that's because I drool.

Try to stop worrying about the size of the Riva - it's small compared to some If my neighbours who are in their 70's aren't worried about the size & how it looks, then you shouldn't be either They are just gobsamcked with how good it is Thank you! I have actually got used to it now already. I think I may soon need a bigger challenge! XXX

I'll get back to replying to the rest of you who have very kindly advised or commented after I have enjoyed my Tescos takeaway curry meal £6 for two people, including Nan bread, Bombay potatoes, Pilau. Bargain.Well, I do need to cut down on the food bill in order to indulge my new past time.
Have 'they' invented a Chicken Madras ejuice yet?

I quote; “What. In. Tarnation. Is. That. Thing. That. You. Are. Sucking. On?” He said what? What were you doing.... I was gesticulating at him with my new, battery- powered pink thing, naturalement!
