Excellent news from the other forum ! The FDA has formally stopped holding any Imports of E-Cigs unless they have therapeutic claims ! They will still with-hold anything that is mis-labelled but other than that it sounds like good news for the USA Vapers

It is good news, ckc. It would appear that the FDA is dropping it's hard line against e-cigs, but I still don't trust them. Call me a cynic. lol

Some brighter news for our American friends then, although I'd imagine the taxation issue is going to be a thorny one.

The wheels in each state will now start to turn a lot faster than they are at the moment.

You beat me to it, CKC, I was just about to post it here. lol
I seriously doubt if the FDA is giving up their fight against e-cigs. They just realized that they weren't going to win this battle.
The States don't want to lose the cigarette tax revenue.

It will be interesting to see if there's to be a flat rate of taxation or whether each state will make it's own decisions . . . am I interpreting that correctly Ckc?
Presumably/obviously on the ejuice that contains nicotine . . . . how on earth will customs monitor all the packages that come from China?

We are double taxed, Perpy. There is Federal tax and then there is State tax.
We also have to deal with the "alphabet" groups, ASH, Lung Association, Cancer Society, etc. They want to see e-cigs banned and are lobbying the individual states to do so.
This battle is far from over.

Sorry Jerry,i knew it was today and have been keeping my eye on the updates) Perpy, the FDA have already sorted out the importing from China' part of the puzzle out. Anything that has 'Electronic Cigarette' on the customs sheets is allowed in anything else doesn't.There will always be some that get through the net but i'm sure who-ever gets caught will recieve cease and desist letters/warnings. The FDA has already put the word out to States that while they can regulate content, packaging etc each State must deal with age limit, places of use etc etc. www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/legislation-news/182522-fda-regulate-e-cig-tobacco.html
